CANADA GOOSE CEO DANI REISS NAMED ONE OF CANADA’S
TOP 40 BUSINESS LEADERS UNDER 40â„¢
Extreme Climate Outerwear Brand Grows 20 Percent Globally, Remains Canadian Made Under Leadership
TORONTO (May 5, 2009) – Canada Goose, (www.canada-goose.com)
the premier global brand of Canadian-made, down-insulated outerwear for extreme climates, today announced that President and CEO Dani Reiss has been selected as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40â„¢ for 2008. The Top 40 honorees were selected from more than 1,100 nominees by an independent advisory board comprised of 26 business leaders from across Canada (www.top40award-canada.org). Canada’s Top 40 Under 40â„¢ is a prestigious national award program, which annually honors 40 Canadians in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors under the age of 40.
Reiss was selected for his contributions to the company’s success over the past 11 years, including his vision to keep the brand authentic by refusing to move its production base from Canada, a strategy that has helped position Canada Goose as a leader in its category. Reiss’s commitment to the environment and Arctic stewardship through his role as chairman of the Polar Bears International organization (www.polarbearsinternational.org) also played a significant role in his selection.
Under Reiss’s leadership, the company has developed into one of the fastest growing companies in Canada with 2008 sales up by 20 percent globally. Reiss also spearheaded the brand’s recently launched Canada Goose Adventure Tours (www.canadagooseadventuretours.com), which offers consumers exclusive, authentic travel adventures led by accomplished experts to a selection of the most spectacular places in the world.
Reiss represents the third generation of family-owned Canada Goose. Having worked in every department of the Toronto-based factory, Reiss took the position of president and CEO in 2001 at the age of 28. Understanding the needs and challenges of outerwear manufacturing and brand management, Reiss’s passion and commitment to becoming the world’s preeminent “outdoor luxury†brand in the outerwear space has cemented Canada Goose’s place among the most sought after brands around the globe.
The Top 40 Under 40, now in its 14th year, is managed by founding sponsor, The Caldwell Partners International. In addition to The Caldwell Partners, national sponsors include Air Canada, Deloitte, The Globe and Mail and National Bank Financial.
