Carryology Honors Granite Gear’s Lutsen with “Best Carry Innovation” Award

Two Harbors, MN – At Summer Outdoor Retailer Show, Granite Gear’s new Lutsen Series multi-day packs with the Re-Fit system was honored with Carryology’s “Best Carry Innovation” award. The Carryology team celebrated the Re-Fit system for providing not only a new perspective, but for also being a truly innovative design that meets a widespread need with inventive construction and smart layout.

“It’s a beautiful system [Re-Fit] that results in a ridiculously lightweight, breathable frame system with exceptional adjustability,” noted Frank Sedlar of Carryology. “We’ve seen a lot of innovations in pack suspension systems at OR but the Re-Fit system of Granite Gear’s Lutsen Series goes back to the very structure of the frame. Hats off to Michael Meyer and his team.”

Michael Meyer, Sr. Director of Design & Development, and design team took great pride in receiving the award on Day 4 of the show. Meyer, who joined the Granite Gear team in 2013, has spearheaded the creation of numerous award-winning pack designs for the company, including the Outside Gear of the Year award-winning Nimbus Trace Access 70. 

“We put a lot of time and field testing into developing the Re-Fit system and we’re stoked to see it honored by a group who truly knows carry technology,” said Meyer. “As usual when designing new packs, function took the highest priority with the Re-Fit system, which resulted in a layout that provided a very unique fitting system while still maintaining a lightweight carry.”
