Who makes the best tent, sleeping bags or apparel? Cast your vote in the Gearzy Awards on Outdoorzy.com—the first social networking website for outdoor enthusiasts. Starting November 24th, Outdoorzy.com wants you to have a say by simply choosing from the slate of four nominees in eleven categories at http://www.outdoorzy.com/gearzy. Every voter who casts a ballot will have a chance to win prizes from Wenger, Merrell, Coghlan’s, Bridgedale, Oboz Footwear, Timex and more. The winning brands from the first-ever Gearzy Awards will be announced in January 2009.

Anyone can vote in the Gearzy Awards, which will be held annually. Four nominees in each category were chosen by Outdoorzy.com’s panel of gear testing bloggers, and include a wide range of companies who manufacture backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, lights, mountain bikes, climbing gear, clothing, shoes, socks, and watches. Finally, a Gear Maker of the Year will be chosen. Real-time polling will show which brands are leading throughout the Gearzy Awards.

“The Gearzy Awards lets any hiker, camper, climber, or mountain biker easily shout out and express their loyalty to their top brands,” said Jason Heflin of Outdoorzy.com.
