CEP Compression Celebrates an Unprecedented Running Career with Team Athlete Meb Keflezighi Following Final NYC Marathon

Whitsett, NC (November 6, 2017) — Meb Keflezighi, one of the most decorated marathon runners in the history of the USA and dedicated CEP team athlete, retired yesterday after running his final New York City Marathon. Wearing his signature CEP Run 2.0 socks, Meb led the pack early and finished 11 on Sunday in his 26 and final marathon at the age of 42.

More than 70 friends and family were in NYC to witness the final bow of the only runner to win the Boston Marathon, New York City Marathon and an Olmplic Medal combined. Meb has transcended the anonymity that many elite distance runners hold in today’s running culture and is an inspiration and hero to many. Meb was brought to tears this week upon hearing he would receive the Abebe Bikila Award, recognition for outstanding contribution to the sport of distance running, handed out by the New York Road Runners.
