MELBOURNE, Australia (March 17, 2011) – After a successful introduction last year into the U.S. market with its hallmark product, the MultiMat, CGear Sand-Free Ltd. today introduces the next evolution, the CGear Sand-Free MultiRug for spring 2011. It is designed for a wide variety of outdoor activities including daytrips to the beach, beach yoga, gardening, tailgating, picnics and camping. Using a softer woven top layer in four bright colors, the MultiRug features the same, patented dual layer mesh technology enabling dirt to fall through without coming back up originally designed for military helicopter landings. In addition, the Multirug comes in 3 sizes Small: 3’4â€x6’6â€, Medium: 5’1’x6’6â€, Large: 6’6â€x6’6′ size and is now available on www.cgear-sandfree.com and will later be available through OutdoorRugs.com, Sport Chalet, Front Gate, REI and Amazon.com.
“The softer, lighter weight MultiRug is the only lifestyle product of its kind on the market and appeals to a broad group of consumers that appreciate being outdoors,†said Ben Kerr, director of CGear Sand-Free. “CGear Sand-Free’s proprietary technology establishes a unique sand, dirt and dust free environment that performs well at the beach, at a campsite, in the backyard or during a tailgating gathering. From the retailer point of view, CGear Sand-Free is a product that will stand out in a competitive marketing place, giving their customers more choice. “
CGear Sand-Free’s proprietary technology was originally developed for military use in Australia as a deployable helimat to eliminate dirt, dust and debris from being kicked up by helicopter rotors when landing. The CGear Tactical Helimat is currently deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan East and used by special forces around the globe. The technology was then adapted for consumer use, first with the durable MultiMat, ideal for more rugged conditions and rougher use, and now the MultiRug.
All of CGear Sand-Free outdoor recreational mats are constructed with reinforced edges and rip-stop technology to increase durability. Liquid spills go through the mat and are easily wiped clean while the non-absorbent material eliminates risk of rot or mold damage. The mats are unaffected by salt or acidic ground and constructed with UV stabilizers to minimize degradation from sun exposure.
The CGear Sand-Free MultiRug is available in sizes small (3’4â€x6’6‒) for a suggested retail value of $45, medium (5’1â€x6’6â€) for $60, and large (6’6â€x6’6â€) for $75.
