Chaco Updates Best-Selling Z Sandal as Part of Spring 2016 Collection

(ROCKFORD, Mich.) – Over 25 years ago, a former river guide introduced the Chaco Z sandal, a revolutionary design that soon became the footwear of choice for adventurers worldwide and helped make Chaco one of the most iconic outdoor footwear brands. For Spring 2016, Chaco is introducing upgrades and options to the venerable Z sandal, improving both its comfort and performance. The Spring 2016 collection also includes new versions of the popular Outcross series as well as numerous new lifestyle shoes and sandals.
“The Z sandal is a classic design that has changed very little in last 25 years, and for good reason,” said Chaco general manager, Chip Coe. “Its fit and performance are hard to beat. But our designers took the opportunity to make some small yet significant improvements to the Z—and the result is a better feel, fit, and function than ever before.”
All Z sandals now feature a new, proprietary outsole design and rubber compound called ChacoGrip™. The ChacoGrip outsole has been lab- and field-tested and has proven to provide better performance and enhanced traction. The new Z/Cloud sandal series offers all of the performance of the classic Z sandal but also includes a plush topsheet that molds to your foot, delivering instantaneous comfort. Dozens of new webbing patterns, colors, and an anti-microbial footbed round out the list of Z sandal upgrades.
In addition to the new Z’s, Chaco introduces two new women’s shoes to the successful Outcross platform – the Outcross Evo Free and the Evo 1.5. The Outcross Evo Free combines the protection of a shoe with the minimal and open construction of a sandal, while the Outcross Evo 1.5 provides a more substantial and closed upper on the same supportive platform. Both styles are breathable, collapsible, and packable, making them perfect for summer travel adventures.
Lastly, Chaco is expanding its collection of popular casual styles with new leather sandals, flips, and shoes for men and women. The new lifestyle sandals and flips feature premium leathers and soft pigskin linings, combined with hand-stitched details and unique tribal-inspired embossments in a variety of natural colors.
