Tualatin, Oregon, U.S.A.— October 15th, 2019: 2019 marked a quarter century in business for CRKT. The innovations that thundered through the shop doors in celebration—Deadbolt and Kinematic™—are tangible reflections of the unrelenting drive towards innovation that has always defined the knife and tool company. Sitting at the helm of the ship since its inception is Rod Bremer, always with a calculated, intuitive, ambitious vision. In 2004 Peggy Bremer joined him on the executive leadership team as CFO. Throughout their collective tenure they’ve driven the company to become one of the most impactful in the industry. They’ve forged lasting relationships with some of the most revered custom designers in the industry and imparted Confidence in Hand on everyone that has had an opportunity to carry a CRKT knife or tool. Now, they announce that it’s time to step back.
“We’re stepping away from the day-to-day operations of CRKT and into higher level advisory positions sooner than we had planned,” says Rod. “We have been working hard for several years on our transition plan and frankly, we feel like we’ve succeeded. By bringing in the right talent to lead, run, and grow CRKT to the next level, it has become very obvious to us that now is the time to move into the next phase of our business and personal lives.”
In their new roles, both Rod and Peggy will continue to work with and review the executive management’s long-term strategic goals encompassing product, innovation, distribution channels, financials, and markets. A newly-formed advisory board will welcome Rod as its chair.
