Chaos Headwear Announces New Sales Representatives and Updates for the Rockies, Midwest,

Northwest and South Texas

Steamboat Springs, Colo. – August 22nd, 2016 – Montreal-based Chaos Headwear, makers of high quality headwear since 1996 in North America and now worldwide, announces new representative regions and agency updates.

In the Rocky Mountain region, Best and Associates will be transferring their business to Hoyt & Company, Incorporated. The official transfer will be January 1, 2017. The two groups have been working hard to ensure a smooth transfer and to support territory goals. Best and Associates have had impressive vertical sales results since joining Chaos in 1998 and have helped develop the brand with positive sales results in the U.S. under national sales director Gary Supple.

“We can’t thank the Bests enough for their years of devotion and brand commitment,” said Supple. “They have helped transform a small Canadian family-owned operation into a worldwide headwear leader. We will miss their ever-ready attitude and team collaboration. The Bests are like family to us, the Bests will be missed, but we are excited with the new opportunity to start up with Hoyt Co.”

Hoyt and Company will take over responsibilities for Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah. Under the helm of Patrick Hoyt, Nick Patston and Ferd Torres, Hoyt & Company has been a premier accessory agency for specialty dealers in the Rocky Mountain Region for over 20 years. They service the ski, outdoor, hook and bullet, gift, and tactical markets. The company’s current brands include Optic Nerve Eyewear, Suunto Watches, and Propper Apparel, with the recent addition of Chaos and CTR.

“We have a solid network of dealers we work with and Chaos/CTR is a perfect fit for our group. We all love to ski, bike, hike, and explore,” Hoyt said, “and our kids keep us out there in all kinds of headwear.”

In the Midwest, Midwest Outdoor Sales (MOS), a Minnesota-based rep group, steps in for the highly reputable BP Associates to represent Chaos/CTR. Although Midwest Outdoor Sales is technically a new entity, they are no stranger to the outdoor industry and Chaos/CTR Headwear. Longstanding rep group BP Associates, an independent sales agency run by Bill Kaplan and Pat Padden, started in 1996 and ran for over 20 years. When Kaplan decided to retire in 2016, it spun off the outdoor division of the agency. The new agency is led by principals Emily Rach, Jeff Reimann and Jim Daley, who bring decades of experience to the team. Kaplan, of BP Associates agency, has been representing Chaos/CTR since its U.S. sales launch over 18 years ago and looks forward to continuing the great relationship with the Chaos team.

“Recent mild winters have been a challenge to the cold weather retail business as a whole,” said co-partner Emily Rach. “However the strength of the Chaos line and reputation for building quality fashion headwear at fantastic prices has allowed Midwest Outdoor Sales to weather the storm and deliver solid growth in a tough environment. Chaos is always on the pulse of fashion and color trends, making it a really fun line to sell! Our retail partners are always excited to see the next season of Chaos as it gives a great pop to their accessory assortment.”

Nelson Associates, Inc. is expanding distribution in the Great Lakes region. Tim Nelson and his partners have thirty years of expertise in the ski and outdoor industry and are excited to work with Chaos.

“Our customers would rather “do” than “watch” and the criteria that motivate their purchasing decisions are rather unique,” Nelson said. “Our customers appreciate companies that specialize in a product and aren’t continually looking for “brand extensions.” They appreciate companies with a history, a heritage and devotion to their products and their retail partners. They highly value companies that make their products here in North America and continue to invest in their people. Chaos Hats is a vendor that is all of this and more. They make the best hats and cold weather accessories on the planet and are uniquely positioned to exceed the wants and need of our customers. We are delighted to represent Chaos in the Great Lake Region.”
