Charlottesville, VA (August 28, 2014) – The Miller Lite Charlottesville Marathon is excited to announce the addition of the Donate Life Virginia Relay to the 2015 races taking place on April 4th, 2015. In its thirteenth year, the Charlottesville Marathon events already include the Miller Lite Marathon, Whole Foods Half-Marathon, Virginia Blood Services 8k, and Whole Kids Mile. Now, they will also include the Donate Life Virginia Marathon Relay.
“Donate Life Virginia is thrilled for this partnership,” says Hilary Czarda, Administrator for Donate Life Virginia. “Organ, eye and tissue donation is a real-life relay race, and we’re hoping to share the mission of our organization even further through the Relay race now at the Charlottesville Marathon.”
The Relay event will welcome teams of four to compete, with each team member running one leg of the marathon in distances ranging from 5.5 to 7.5 miles. “It’s an exciting time for us to be growing the race even further after over a decade of running!” explains Alyssa Godesky, Director of Marketing for the Charlottesville Marathon. “The relay option is a great way to gather some friends and conquer the full marathon distance as a team.”
Registration for the Charlottesville Marathon and each of its events, including the Donate Life Virginia Relay, can be found at www.charlottesvillemarathon.com.
