Lake Oswego, Ore. (January 30, 2007) – Designer denim, full-grain leather, air mesh: it’s a whole new concept in molded comfort shoes presented by Cloggensâ„¢ at The WSA Show this week. Headlining the fall ’07 collection is the new Active Comfort Line which blends the benefits of Cloggens’ renowned comfort features with a new level of style. This trend-setting line debuts with the Cero, offered in three fashion-inspired models – Air Mesh, Designer Denim and Leather.

According to Cloggens co-founder Troy Lewis, molded footwear is gaining traction as the newest option in comfort-wear alongside sneakers and sandals.

“From the outset, we’ve made it our goal to evolve this category through technological innovation and design creativity,” said Lewis. “The market relevance of this segment far exceeds a garden clog, and we’re adding fashion elements to meet consumer demands for stylish, lightweight and comfortable shoes at a great price.”

With sales of molded footwear expected to reach $750 million in 2007, Lewis envisions an exceptional opportunity for Cloggens to set the pace and broaden the segment to support market viability and longevity.

Over the last 12 months, Cloggens has led this category in style and innovation with the first shoes to feature a women’s-specific last, removable patent-pending Comfasolesâ„¢ footbeds, groundbreaking 3dâ„¢ technology and, now, introducing new elements.

Built around design advances and technological improvements to enhance performance, Cloggens’ distinct approach is striking a chord with consumers and retailers, as indicated by the company’s predicted growth for 2007 to be 10 times that of 2006.

“There is evidence that this segment is rapidly opening-up to support a widening field of brands,” added Lewis. “With that in mind, it’s critical that our product remains fresh and we continue to evolve.”

Cloggens fall ’07 footwear offering reflects the company’s commitment to innovation with two individual lines of shoes in a range of styles and colors for men, women, and children.

The Active Comfort Shoes Line carves a new path with a trend-setting collection that combines the best properties of molded footwear with air-mesh, denim and leather fabric uppers. The new line transforms the traditional look of the molded comfort casual shoe, while maintaining Cloggens’ lightweight durability and superior fit.

This line debuts with the Cero collection in three original models. The Cero Air Mesh ($40 SRP) shoe is engineered to keep feet cool and snug with an advanced air-mesh upper enclosure that is treated with a special water- and dirt-resistant finish. Adding a fashion “kick” to each step, Cero Designer Denim ($50 SRP) styles feature embellished denim panels in a range of designs that include stitch details, embroidery and rhinestones. The Cero Leather ($50 SRP) model delivers closed-shoe protection in a soft, tumbled full-grain leather upper that offers a contoured fit with a pleated stitch pattern providing a stylish profile.

Innovation and technology are front and center in the Comfort Casual Line, with footwear that includes industry firsts such as 3d technology to create shoes with three specific densities for enhanced comfort, fit and durability; two-shot color designs; and a women’s-specific last. All styles are built on Cloggens’ proprietary C-Forma anti-microbial and anti-bacterial material, and feature an odor-resistant upper and strategically placed venting in the toebox to help keep feet cool and dry.

The Pada ($30 SRP adults/$25 SRP children) is the first molded shoe developed using Cloggens’ 3d technology and featuring two-shot color. Perfect for beachwear, streetwear or simply relaxing, the Pada combines modern styling with support and maximum comfort and is offered in eight dual-color designs. The sporty Bermuda ($35 SRP) is built specifically for a woman’s foot to deliver a superior fit and cool comfort. This streamlined silhouette includes a woven textured and printed design on the upper, making it a great all-around comfort casual shoe.

Unique features and benefits form the foundation of all Cloggens shoes and include the company’s lightweight C-Forma material, and removable patent-pending Comfasoles footbeds which absorb sweat, naturally support the arch and enhance flexibility and cushioning. In addition, Cloggens’ cupped heel ensures that every shoe moves in unison with the foot for protection and stability. The heel strap’s proprietary design includes snaps to easily detach the strap for added versatility. A durable, abrasion-resistant, non-marking outsole incorporates Cloggens’ distinctive lug pattern to increase traction.

Cloggens “shoes for humans” are available internationally in better outfitters, comfort retailers, department stores and sporting goods stores and through select online retailers. The fall ‘07 line includes men’s, women’s and children’s models, with new styles slated for arrival in March and April 2007.

Located in Lake Oswego, Ore., Cloggens was created in October 2005 to offer consumers a better line of molded comfort shoes. Since then, the company has been leading this footwear category in style and innovation. With a seasoned team of footwear industry veterans, Cloggens remains on the forefront of product design and technology.
