Daytona Beach, Fla. – Costa Sunglasses recently hired Margaret DeWeerth as its new apparel merchandising manager. The company’s apparel line consists of t-shirts, performance shirts, hats and retainer cords and is available online at www.costadelmar.com and at authorized Costa retailers. DeWeerth will be responsible for the apparel product development process from design through manufacturing.
Prior to joining Costa, DeWeerth worked for A3 Merchandise in Nashville, Tenn., serving as an apparel sourcing manager for ProRodeo Gear and several other clients. During her time at A3 Merchandise she managed overseas and domestic production of apparel, while monitoring the supply chain, manufacturing processes and global logistics. She also spent time as a merchandise business planner for Knight Apparel on several apparel lines including the National Basketball Association (NBA) Team and NBA Brand apparel.
DeWeerth graduated from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles with an associate of arts degree in Merchandise Product Development.
“We’re excited to have Margaret on board to help us grow Costa’s apparel business,” said Chas MacDonald, president of Costa Sunglasses. “Her insight and experience has brought a fresh perspective to our team.
As the leading manufacturer of the world’s clearest polarized performance sunglasses, Costa offers superior lens technology and unparalleled fit and durability. Still handcrafted today in Florida, Costa has created the highest quality, best performing sunglasses and prescription sunglasses (Rx) for outdoor enthusiasts since 1983. It’s currently the fourth-largest brand in the performance sunglasses market.
For Costa, conservation is all about sustainable fishing. Many fisheries that should be vibrant and healthy are all but devoid of native fish because they have fallen victim to poor fishing practices, unregulated development, lack of watershed protection or all of the above. Costa works with partners around the world to help increase awareness and influence policy so that both the fish and fishermen of tomorrow will have healthy waters to enjoy. Costa encourages others to help in any way they can.
