Cotopaxi, the Benefit Corporation and outdoor gear brand, brings the best of San Francisco to your fingertips. Their wildly successful adventure scavenger hunt, Questival (part quest, part festival), returns to San Francisco for the second annual race, September 25-26, 2015.

As the first-ever venture-backed Benefit Corporation, Cotopaxi has made a bold commitment to create positive social impact. The company focuses their humanitarian efforts on poverty alleviation and gives targeted grants to advance health, education, and livelihoods initiatives around the world. Products are sustainably sourced and responsibly designed to minimize waste and maximize lifespan. This purpose-driven philosophy permeates all of Cotopaxi’s operations, including the Questival event series.

Teams of two to six will be given a list of 200+ challenges and are tasked with creatively completing as many as possible in 24 hours. From hiking Lands End Coastal Trail to taking a dip in the Pacific, exploring Redwood National Park or camping out under the stars, each team navigates their unique experience. Challenge after challenge, teams gain points as they go by documenting completed tasks through the Questival app, available through the App Store and Google Play Store.

The 2014 San Francisco based Questival saw more than 100 teams compete and over 1,000 people attending the wrap-up party after the Questival. This year, however, there will be a kick-off party at 5 p.m. at Crissy Field near Planet Granite, on Friday Sept. 25, featuring music, food trucks, product sampling and an electric and energetic vibe to send teams on their way. Cotopaxi has partnered with Project Open Hand and will be collecting much-needed food donations during Questival San Francisco.

The Questival race officially starts at 7 p.m. on Friday Sept. 25 and goes 24hrs until 7 p.m. Saturday Sept. 26. Check-in will be open 5pm – 8:30pm on Friday the 25th.

The winning team will receive a trip to race across 7 countries from Belize to Panama, against winning teams from other Questival cities. The successful team from that contest wins a trip around the world.

Each participant also receives a free Cotopaxi Luzon pack ($30 value), a unique team totem, stickers, tattoos, and samples from event sponsors. There is also an option for “Little Llamas,” those under 12 wanting to take part for $15.

Regular llama tickets are available Aug. 22 – Sept. 4 for $45; Semi-Regular llama from Sept. 5 – Sept. 18 for $50; and Fashionably late llama from Sept. 19 – 25 for $55. Participants can register a team here: http://questival.cotopaxi.com/questivals/sanfrancisco2015/.
