Crazy Creek’s humble beginnings started with a simple idea for comfort in the backcountry. Sitting on rough stumps and logs, not to mention hard, cold, wet ground with no back support… this was no way to relax in camp after a long day–there had to be a better way to sit that was portable enough to be carried on a backpack. So, after endless tinkering and multiple prototypes, the original Crazy Creek Chair was born. Known then as “The Chair”, this simple yet revolutionary product took the outdoor industry by storm. 30 years later, Crazy Creek is still building great products, including their “Original” Chair, and enhancing people’s outdoor experiences.
Over the years scores of folks, young and old, have let Crazy Creek know about the wonderful experiences they’ve had with their first “Crazy Creeks”. (And remarkably, many still have their original chairs from decades ago!) Crazy Creek is encouraging people to share their memories through the social media campaign #MYFIRSTTIME, where users are encouraged to share their first Crazy Creek Chair memories on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter for the chance to win a Retro Original Chair.
Looking to the future and building on Crazy Creek’s authentic roots, the company is continuing to focus on developing new products for the next 30 years. Comfort and durability are always paramount. And of course, having Crazy Fun!
