CRAZY, ESTABLISHED SKI TOURING APPAREL BRAND FROM ITALY, DEBUTS MEN AND WOMEN’S LINE IN U.S. FALL 2021

Lines Feature Jackets, Pants, Vests and Accessories, Fusing Fast and Light Construction with Italian Styling;

BORMIO, ITALY (February 15, 2021) – Tapping into the surging back country trend, Crazy, a respected Italian apparel company known for being the first brand to introduce the fast and light category back in 1989 and for its European heritage in ski touring, will debut a line for men and women in the United States fall 2021. Founded by Valeria Colturi, an accomplished cross-country athlete, Crazy draws upon Colturi’s own athletic accomplishments and love of fashion, while combining iconic performance technology, proprietary designs and a commitment to fast and light construction. Crazy’s U.S. line includes jackets, pants, vests and accessories ranging in prices from $11 – $256 and will be available on www.crazy.it/english beginning September 2021.

“There is a steady rise in back country winter activities around the globe, but especially in the U.S.,” said Valeria Colturi, founder of Crazy. “Our line not only appeals to core devotees that demand premium performance, but also, appeals to outdoor enthusiasts looking for something different that does not exist in the U.S. market today – reimagined mountaineering apparel that has a fresh look, moves in unison with the body and really acts as a second skin.”

Specifically, the Crazy line is designed for athletes that engage in ski touring and sky running. The pieces use sourced fabrics with elastic properties and down technologies that limit volume while enhancing the freedom of movement and providing maximum comfort.

Crazy’s body mapping design process ensures each item provides warmth and breathability for each area of the body.

Inspired by Italian fashion, Crazy’s apparel line is designed to stand out with a combination of bright colors and unusual prints designed by Colturi in collaboration with famous artists. For instance, the women’s Summit Jacket (MSRP: $370) and Dixy Pull Jacket (MSRP: $160) feature sunset colors and female portraits from Hulya Ozdemir, an artist who challenges societal norms and encourages female empowerment. The men’s styles reflect the energy of autumn skies and burning fires, featuring forest greens, blazing reds and glowing yellows. In total, the line includes 33 silhouettes for both men and women.

“We’re using elastic components in our jackets to ensure every part moves in unison with the body, from the padding and lining to the fabric,” said Irene Fortini, Crazy’s product manager. “We replaced traditional hand pockets in our mid-layers and jackets with the ‘fast pocket’, an outer chest pocket that accommodates items, like skins. Lastly, the use of Diamond Down enables us to offer a sustainable down jacket that maximizes warmth while reducing bulk,” Fortini continued.

Hero products for fall 2021 include the Cervino and Resolution styles and the Levity Jacket. The Cervino Pull Jacket, the most technical garment of the fall collection, features a wind and waterproof front panel and honeycomb fabric to release moisture. Cervino pants’ technical details include elastic waterproof gaiters that accommodate most ski touring boots. The Cervino Pull Jacket is available in men’s for $230 and women’s for $180. The Cervino Pants are available in men’s for $240 and women’s for $210.

The Resolution hoodie (MSRP: $200), produced entirely in high performance 3D fleece with a honeycomb fabric, has an athletic fit with the highest degree of breathability, and may be worn as a mid or exterior layer. The Resolution pant (MSRP: $210) is ideal for trekking, snowshoeing and winter hiking. It has a softshell fabric without membrane, incorporating water-repellent characteristics, is windproof, antipilling and tear proof. This style is also available in women’s, called the Ionic Pull Jacket, for $180.

Crazy’s Levity Jacket (MSRP: $540), the lightest down jacket in the outdoor market, weighing 6.1 ounces for men and 5.4 ounces for women, uses Diamond Down, hand-picked white goose feathers certified to be sourced using sustainable practices. The Diamond Down is treated with Molina Hydrodown, an eco-friendly treatment that recovers the original waterproof characteristics of feathers in the down, significantly reducing drying time when wet.

“As an athlete, I used my personal experience to create a custom-made solution that my friends couldn’t otherwise find on the market,” continued Colturi. “Hence, Crazy was born as an elite athlete boutique. We are now looking forward to bringing our brand to the U.S.”

Crazy strives to reduce its impact on the environment, using recycled paper in their packaging, saving 200,000 plastic bags per year.

Crazy has chosen to partner with Progression Brand Group in Eagle, Colorado to lead product distribution throughout the U.S. For sales inquiries, contact Dano Bruno, dano@progressionbrands.com, 970-390-7910.
