The pro cyclists of Team CSC will be competing in this week’s Tour de Georgia—and throughout the season—wearing Descente Athletic cycling jackets made with eVent Fabric.

Currently ranked #1 in the UCI ProTour rankings, Team CSC is the team to beat in this six-stage, 600-mile race around the Peach State. Some of the world’s most respected riders comprise Team CSC, including Bobby Julrich, Andrea Peron, and Tour de France favorite, Ivan Basso.

According to Hugh Walton, president of Descente Athletic, these top cyclists specifically requested eVent® fabric in their team outwear, calling it the best in breathable protection. “When we began working with Team CSC they insisted that the cyclists’ jackets be made with eVent Fabric,” said Walton. “Their experience in extremely challenging conditions showed that eVent provides the best combination of breathability and protection.”

The eVent Fabric used in Descente Athletic’s cycling jackets features a unique venting membrane technology. Unlike other waterproof/breathable technologies that move moisture by a process of diffusion through a PU layer, eVent Fabrics allow sweat to vent directly to the outside of the jacket in one easy step though a process called Direct Ventingâ„¢ technology. This unique process helps to keep the riders dry on the inside. Simply put, eVent Fabrics let the sweat out.â„¢

The 2006 Tour de Georgia will begin in Augusta, Georgia on Tuesday, April 18 and culminate 600 miles later with a grand finale in Alpharetta, Georgia on Sunday, April 23. The six-day, six-stage race will travel through several Georgia communities including Macon, Fayetteville, Rome, and Dalton. The Outdoor Life Network will showcase the Tour de Georgia on its weekly “Cyclysm Sundays” program, Sunday, April 30 at 5:00pm.

About eVent Fabrics:
Entering its sixth year in the outdoor industry, eVent Fabrics has built a strong reputation as a highly-functional waterproof laminate technology with a very loyal following. Unlike other laminates on the market, eVent Fabrics allow sweat to vent directly to the outside of the garment in one easy step through a process called Direct Ventingâ„¢ technology. This unique process allows moisture to vent away from the body without condensing on the inside of the fabric, helping to keep the user dry no matter what the activity or conditions. Simply put, eVent Fabrics let the sweat out.â„¢
