Washington (January 15, 2015) —The diverse interests and needs of snow sports retailers, reps and suppliers has motivatedSnowSports Industries America (SIA), the snow sports industry’s member-owned trade association, to cultivate tailored elements, events and gatherings at and surrounding the 2015 SIA Snow Show (Jan. 29 – Feb. 1) at Denver’s Colorado Convention Center.
“The Show is the key venue where manufacturers, buyers, and the media come together to transact, discuss, share and learn about new products, customer insights, and the overall evolution of our industry,” said Tyler LaMotte, business unit director,Patagonia, Snow.
The industry’s 2015 all starts with the free INDUSTRY + INTELLIGENCE (#SIA15intel) on January 28, a day of free market intelligence, keynote inspiration and access to the annual forum for the mountain tourism industry, The ASSEMBLY. Highlights include seminars and the initial results of the Downhill Consumer Intelligence Project (DCIP), addresses from 2014 Paralympic Bronze Medalist Amy Purdy and motivational speaker and humorist Brad Montgomery. A fun, free evening reception open to all attendees and exhibitors will kick-off the industry’s SNOW week.
The SIA Snow Show abounds with 60+ seminars and clinics on marketing, research, production, trends and sales addressing new ways to engage with online consumers and users. On the Show floor, a new seminar line-up to be held inside Sourcing Snow convenes designers and suppliers to discover product development trends, technologies and planning. Sourcing Snow returns in 2015 with twice the number of exhibitors, as a one-stop shop for the snow sports industry offering an experience unique to all things snow. CRAFT @ SIA, dedicated to the small, independent, hand-crafted ski and snowboard manufacturers, returns to the 2015 SIA Snow Show with an increase in participants. This hub of small, independent, hand-crafted ski and snowboard manufacturers showcases brands, design and innovations that are set to make their mark in the snow sports industry.

The Backcountry Experiencereturns to the Snow Show with Project Zero’s launch of the Backcountry Starts Here campaign where retailers, reps and the media can learn more from the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) professionals, athletes and guides including Chris Davenport, Lynsey Dyer, Greg Hill, and Jeremy Jones. Each day, Backcountry Experience hosts retail clinics, panel discussions, happy hours with the pros, in addition to supporting content structured around the basics of the Backcountry Starts Here campaign.
