CW-X DEBUTS NEW TRIATHLON GEAR, BRIEFS FOR SPRING 2007
Xtra Support Bra Joins Successful Sports Bra Line
NEW YORK, N.Y. (June 28, 2006) – The Wacoal Sports Science Corporation, makers of CW-X(r) Conditioning Wear (www.cw-x.com), will enter the triathlon sports category in spring 2007 with Tops and Shorts. Also new are a selection of CW-X Performance Sports and Mesh Briefs for men and women, and an Xtra Support Bra for women with larger cup sizes. The new additions to the CW-X line will become available at retail beginning March 2007.
CW-X Triathlon Wear Tops and Shorts are anatomically engineered to enhance the wearer’s comfort and performance over both short-distance and long-distance events. Both tops and shorts feature patented Conditioning Web support technology and Coolmax with Lycra fabric. CW-X Tri-Shorts contain support technology for the lower back, hips, and lower abdominals, including the hip flexors and iliotibial bands. and have a lightweight polyester fleece chamois insert for both cycling and running.
Both men’s and women’s Tri-Tops feature mesh Conditioning Web to support the muscles of the upper body, Coolmax and Lycra stretch fabric for moisture wicking, and mesh Coolmax back panels for breathability. The CW-X Tri-Tops have two back pockets and flat-seam construction to prevent chafing, and zippered fronts for quick changes during competition.
CW-X Performance Sports Briefs incorporate Healtha+ nanotechnology fabrics to make them extremely lightweight, quick drying, moisture wicking and anti-bacterial. All CW-X briefs are constructed with flat seams for maximum comfort. The CW-X Performance LiteFit Brief for men and women incorporates Healtha+ fabric’s six-channel moisture wicking, anti-bacterial silver fiber technology and adds mesh panels in high perspiration zones, as well as an extra fabric liner in the crotch for women’s models. For the CW-X Mesh Briefs, Healtha+ is woven in a ventilated design for extra breathability. This weave can also be found in the CW-X Mesh Support Bra. The briefs range from $25 to $27 for both men’s and women’s versions.
New Sport Support Bra for Larger Cup Sizes
The CW-X Xtra Support Bra is the newest addition to the successful line of
CW-X Sport Support Bras. Like all CW-X bras, Xtra Support uses patented Soft Support technology to balance comfort and support, in this case for larger cup sizes through 38DD.
Xtra Support Bras have a five-point Soft Support Web built into each cup, with an extra layer of mesh web material reinforcing the front cup panel of the bra, and a side panel for extra support. Coolmax/Lycra tricot fabrics with a Healtha+ mesh front panel are used for moisture wicking and breathability. There’s a stretch mesh internal venting channel under the bust line for breathability and moisture evaporation. The new bras have a reinforced crossover racer-back with wide stretch band for extra support and “hook and clasp” closure for added convenience. The Xtra Support Bra retails for $55.
“Triathlon gear is a natural extension of the CW-X line,†said company executive vice president John L.A. Wilson. “We already have running and cycling products. Now we’re responding to consumer demand for CW-X triathlon gear. The same is true with our new line of briefs: our parent company is one of the largest intimate apparel manufacturers in the world, and consumers are looking for sport briefs with more performance features,†Wilson said.
Wacoal Sports Science has been issued patents for CW-X technology in Japan and Europe, with 15 patents in the U.S. alone. CW-X has been extensively tested and proven in competition by Olympics medalists, cyclists in the Tour de France, and climbers on two separate and successful Mt. Everest expeditions.
