CW-X LAUNCHES WINDPROOF INSULATOR STABILYX TIGHT, ENTERS OUTERWEAR MARKET WITH ELEMENTX

New VersatX Tight, Xtra Support Zip Bra Added

From Base Layer To New Outerlayers,
CW-X is Born Anew in 2007-08

New York, N.Y. (Dec. 12, 2006) – Wacoal Sports Science Corp. (WSSC), makers of CW-X® Performance Conditioning Wear®, have capitalized on the success of the Stabilyx Tight by offering it in an Insulator version with integrated windproof panels. The company also announced their new ElementX (pronounced “elements”) line of outerwear, along with several new products, including VersatX tights, and an Xtra Support zip bra. These new performance garments and other mainstays of the CW-X line will be shown at the Ski Industries America trade show in Las Vegas, Jan. 22-25 (booth no. B1161), then at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, Jan. 27-30 in Salt Lake (booth no. 1001).

Stabilyx Technology Added to Insulator Line

Stabilyx will be the newest CW-X technology added to the Insulator line. It provides optimum Targeted Support to both the lower back/core area and the knee joint and surrounding muscles for greater overall stability and power.

The new tights will feature the company’s first integrated stretch wind panel, which will cover the lower abs, crotch and quad areas, perfect for winter running, downhill and cross country skiing, and snowboarding. What’s more, the Stabilyx Insulator’s Autosensor nanotechnology fabric helps maintain core body temperatures in cold conditions, wicking excess moisture and providing insulated warmth. Men’s and women’s Stabilyx Insulator tights are $115 suggested retail and are available in black with blue stitching.

ElementX Outerwear for Fall and Winter

For its first entry into outerwear, the ElementX line will include a coordinated jacket, vest and pants. The anatomically articulated garments are made from a windproof and water repellent woven polyester fabric, featuring anatomical inserts at the knee and elbow joints for ease of motion.

ElementX has been designed for most high energy outdoor fitness activities, primarily in fall and winter, and can be worn as a shell outer layer on top of the company’s existing line of patented tights, tops and bras featuring CW-X’s Conditioning Webâ„¢ support technology.

“Retailers have been asking us to expand the line beyond base layer to include outerwear that can be worn in colder conditions,” said John L.A. Wilson, President and Chief Operating Officer of Wacoal Sports Science Corp. “This is the first step for us in that direction and is the result of research and development at Wacoal’s Human Performance Laboratory in Japan.”

The ElementX jacket, made for men and women, is vented along the sides and upper back with a polyester mesh and features reflective piping, zippered pockets, a full zip front, and a longer tail in the back for comfort and protection. Suggested retail price is $88. The full-zip vest is also vented and reflective and, like the jacket, features a high mock turtle zip neck. It will be sold for $70 sug. ret.

The new pants in the ElementX line will have articulated knees, ankle zips, elasticized waist and cinch ties, zip pockets, and reflective piping for a suggested retail price of $68.

VersatX Tights Offer Dry-Zone R506 Fabric

Also new for 2007-08: VersatX Tights, a performance tight featuring a new version of the company’s patented Conditioning Web in the core area to support the lower abdominals, hip flexors and gluteal muscles. Dry-Zone R506 fabric offers quick- dry moisture wicking, and SPF 50 UV protection through the use of zinc titanium fibers. VersatX (pronounced “versatex”) also features anti-bacterial silver fibers and four-way stretch comfort. It will be available in men’s and women’s sizes for $60 sug. ret.

Front Zip Xtra Support Bra Added For Larger Cup Sizes

The Xtra Support bras will now include a full frontal zip version for larger cup sizes. The bra, made of Coolmax/Lycra tricot with a Healtha+ mesh panel in the front and back, comes in a full zip closure in the front. Like all CW-X bras, it features the company’s proprietary five-point star-shaped Soft Support Web in each cup. The Xtra Support Zip Bra, which is available up to size 40DD for $65 sug. ret., is reinforced with an extra layer of web mesh and padded support inserts built into the shoulder straps, the sides, and the bottoms of each cup for comfortable support. Rather than rely on uncomfortable underwires or overbuilt construction, the Xtra Support Zip bra continues the CW-X “soft support” concept.
