MEDWAY, Mass.–Cybex International, Inc. (NASDAQ: CYBI), a leading manufacturer of premium exercise equipment, announced today that it has been named Fitness Equipment Partner to “The Biggest Loser.”
Through this multi-year agreement, CYBEX equipment and signage will be prominently featured on the popular NBC television show. The company will also introduce The Biggest Loser Arc Trainer, a new, consumer version of its groundbreaking cardio device.
Coinciding with filming of the show’s 10th season, The Biggest Loser chose to replace all its ellipticals with the CYBEX Arc Trainer, which has been shown through independent research to burn more calories at the same perceived exertion compared to ellipticals and cross trainers. Based on that data and other brand characteristics, CYBEX was also selected to be the fitness equipment supplier for The Biggest Loser Resorts, including a location opening this year in Malibu. The Biggest Loser Arc is licensed through NBC Universal Television Consumer Products Group and Reveille LLC. The deal was brokered by Ladder Up Media.

In all, The Biggest Loser set now features more than 60 pieces of CYBEX strength and cardio equipment that will be showcased in episodes which begin airing this September.
