St. Louis, MO., August 28, 2018 — A local heritage apparel brand with a grassroots following of makers, artisans, and craftsman across the country, Dakota Grizzly has much to celebrate this fall: participating in the upcoming SLC LouFest and working with a national recording artist.

Dakota Grizzly, as an inaugural sponsor in the 2018 LouFest, is plugging into the two-day music extravaganza with three major activations. As proud St. Louis makers themselves, the brand will host a Midwest Makers section in the festival’s VIP area. Local Midwest Makers will be on hand crafting creations, and The Wandering Sidecar will be mixing cocktails. Festival goers will also find Dakota Grizzly in the artist hangout area, and there will be plenty of opportunities to win Dakota Grizzly gear.

LouFest’s largest lineup ever will be headlined by Modest Mouse and legendary rock artist Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters. The festival will also feature more than 40 groups, representing a diverse range of artists from indie rock to hip-hop to country. Musicians from St. Louis will be featured heavily, including veteran Michael McDonald and several local jazz, heritage, and roots & blues bands from the Kranzberg Arts Foundation artist-in-residence program, which will perform on a fourth stage.

The 2017 event was a sell-out with more than 60,000 attending over two days. It was held on the Upper Muny Grounds and Festival Plaza, and will again in 2018, as Forest Park’s Central Fields remain under renovation.

Celebrating music, Dakota Grizzly is working with singer-songwriter Griffin House. A traveling modern day troubadour and storyteller, his music is a blend of folk, rock, punk and pop. Recording and performing for over 15 years, House has toured with Brett Dennen, Josh Ritter, John Mellencamp, Mat Kearney, and The Cranberries, just to name a few. He has been featured on the CBS Sunday Morning Show and has also appeared on Late Night with Craig Ferguson. Most recently, CNN Newsroom invited House to perform “Paris Calling,” from his most recent album, “So On and So Forth.”

House is currently headlining a national tour and has just completed his 13th studio album, set to release in early 2019.

Dakota Grizzly is honored to be working with House, a fellow Midwest Maker, you will see House featured in Dakota Grizzly’s 2019 Spring Collection. Tour information.
