Dale of Norway is pleased to announce Oyvind Lauritzen as the new Managing Director and CEO. Dale of Norway has been a leader in knitwear design and manufacturing since 1879.

Oyvind Lauritzen comes to Dale of Norway from the company, Skigutane (www.skigutane.no), a sport and fashion development and design company he has co-owned and led since 2001. During this time, Lauritzen developed several successful brands under the Skigutane umbrella, including Kari Traa Activewear, Aasnes Ski and Outerwear, and products under license from BULA.

“I am excited to join the team of such a prestigious Norwegian brand,” commented Lauritzen. He continued, “I look forward to working with the team in continuing to create new designs and in increasing Dale’s presence throughout the world.”

Lauritzen will work in Dale, Norway, headquarters for Dale of Norway since 1879. All design, marketing and manufacturing continues to take place in this small village by the west coast of Norway. Hilde Midthjell, a Norwegian businesswomen who purchased Dale of Norway in late 2009, will continue as Chairman of the Board.

Dale of Norway’s premium sweaters, baselayer and outerwear is sold throughout Europe and North America. Its North American office is based in Williston, Vermont, servicing retailers in the U.S. and Canada.
