Northfield, Vt. – True-Seamless™ ultra-light run and bike socks from Darn Tough Vermont are now available for purchase online and in stores. The new socks, made using the latest generation of seamless knitting technology, offer athletes the ultimate in comfort and performance.

“Though seamless technology has been available for a couple of years, the socks produced on these machines weren’t up to our quality standards,” says Darn Tough Vermont owner Ric Cabot. “The latest generation of European-made machines, however, can produce densely knit socks using our ultra fine merino wool yarns with a toe seam closure that is all but undetectable to the touch. The result is a seamless sock we can confidently put our name on and on which we can offer our unconditional lifetime guarantee.”

The socks are knit with 21.5-micron, shrink-treated merino wool that results in a density of 1,441 stitches per square inch, creating the fit, comfort, durability and performance characteristics the Darn Tough Vermont brand is known for. True-Seamless™ technology takes these characteristics to a new level, bringing an unrivaled dimension of long distance comfort, performance and chafe resistance to select Darn Tough Vermont lines. “The advantages of our seamless technology is most evident in lightweight socks where the athlete wants as little sock between foot and shoe as possible,” explained Cabot. “We’ll be offering True-Seamless™ in our ultra-light ski, run and bike socks; styles where a virtually non-existent seam offers the most direct advantages to the serious athlete.”

Mark Comcowich, the company’s Director of Sales and Marketing, points out that, “Our sole focus since Darn Tough’s founding has been to produce the best-performing socks on the market and to be intensely customer focused in achieving this goal. Thin, dense, light socks represent probably the most innovative segment of the outdoor sock industry, and the ability to add seamless technology to these products is something that our customers said they wanted. When you run your hand over where the seam should be on these new socks, you feel nothing at all. This translates into better fit, no hot spots or blisters, increased durability and optimum comfort. We’ve built our firm on listening to customers and reacting faster than our competitors. It’s a simple approach, and one that works well for us.”
