Northfield, VT- Skilled labor and dedicated employees of the Cabot Hosiery Mill, Inc. home of Darn Tough Vermont socks are credited with the ability to knit the highest quality socks possible for their premium brand of performance socks.

Talented and long term employees are an essential component to the success of the Darn Tough Vermont sock brand. The brand was created four years ago to help protect the Cabot Hosiery Mill from the all too inevitable outsourcing of domestic manufacturing and the desire to showcase the talents of the mill under their own brand name. “In the past 3.5 years the Darn Tough Vermont brand has grown to include dealers from Maine to Hawaii. The success of our mill and brand begins with high quality, very comfortable and durable products. This could not have been achieved without our long term and highly talented staff,” said Sales Manager, Roland Beliveau.

“We are grateful for our skilled labor team and feel honored that we have over 30 employees that have worked at the mill for 10 years or more,” said Ric Cabot, Vice President of the Cabot Hosiery Mill. In March, five of those 30 employees celebrated anniversaries of 11 years or more. Gretchen Farnsworth, Lise Morey, Kim Young, Jenn Lagerstaedt and Jimmy Cannon each celebrated anniversaries ranging from 11 to 25 years. Head Knitting Technician Jimmy Cannon has been with the mill since the late 1970’s. “I enjoy being treated like family and supported by the owners,” said Cannon, “It has been exciting to be part of the launch and success of Darn Tough and watch the whole mill get behind it.”

The Cabot Hosiery Mill, Inc. and Darn Tough Vermont recognize the importance of domestic manufacturing and the 30 year commitment to the community of Northfield, VT. “The support of our staff, as we transition from a company solely reliant on private label business to supporting and building our brand, has been a great experience to be involved with. I’d like to thank our customers for all the support they have shown us over the past three years. It means a lot to the staff that their hard work is being recognized,” said Roland Beliveau.

Darn Tough Vermont socks are designed, tested and knit in the Green Mountains of Vermont to withstand the rigors of outdoor activities like no other. The unconditional lifetime guarantee says it all: “If our socks aren’t the most comfortable and durable socks you’ve ever owned, return them for your money back.”
