Darn Tough Vermont, maker of the fastest growing collection of outdoor performance socks in the USA, introduces a ski sock that sets the new standard in the category: the F5 cushioned ski sock for men and women who seek the high performance of an ultra-light ski sock, but want a bit of strategically placed cushion exactly where it counts. See it at the 2013 Outdoor Retailer Winter Show in booth #32148.

Darn Tough developed the F5 sock from a clean slate to address this need. Advances in ski, boot and binding designs have evolved the sport to a level of technical performance that allows the skier to push their limits. The F5 sock is completely in sync with this rapid evolution in technology, linking the skier’s foot to the boot, binding and ski in a truly seamless way. The F5 sock achieves a perfect blend of the performance of an ultra-light sock, and the comfort of a cushioned sock, without adding unnecessary bulk.

Designed with the input from some of Vermont’s most experienced boot fitters, the F5 features five precisely located comfort pads (F5 is shorthand for Function 5, a reference to these pads) to diminish the pressure points inherent to most ski boots – an issue particularly important to skiers who are seeking to extract the maximum performance of their gear by fitting their boots tightly in order to eliminate slop, and deliver precise edge control. On the F5, specialized metatarsal, navicular, ankle, Achilles and shin pads all work in concert with the cushioned foot bottom and Darn Tough’s unique True-Seamlessâ„¢ toe box to deliver a foot-to-boot union that sets the standard of how a ski sock should perform. All-day-long comfort, superior wicking, and optimized temperature control mean that wearers of the F5 sock will be able to focus on their skiing, rather than on the performance limits of their socks.

As always, Darn Tough performance socks are made in Northfield, Vermont by skilled sock-makers using the most advanced knitting machines in the industry, and are unconditionally guaranteed for life.

The F5 will be available in the fall. For more information, please visit www.darntough.com.
