Deckers Outdoor Awarded Outside’s Best Places to Work 2008

(April 14, 2008) – Santa Barbara based Deckers Outdoor Corporation (NASDAQ: DECK), owner of global footwear brands Teva®, Simple® Shoes, and UGG® Australia, was named one of Outside’s Best Places to Work 2008. This first time program was created by Outside magazine in partnership with the Outdoor Industry Association and Best Companies Group.

This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in the country that not only create a great work environment but also promote an environmentally friendly business process and create a work-outdoor life balance for employees. The list is made up of 30 companies split into three categories: 10 small-sized companies (15-49 employees), 10 medium-sized companies (50-249 employees) and 10 large-sized companies (250 and more employees). Deckers Outdoor Corporation has been ranked number seven in the large category of Outside’s Best Places to Work 2008.

Companies from across the nation entered the two-part process to determine Outside’s Best Places to Work. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall process as well as preformed the analysis and determined the final rankings.

The rankings will be published in the May 2008 issue of Outside magazine.

Along with this achievement, Deckers was also awarded Company of the Year by Footwear Plus and Footwear News Magazines and climbed to the number 9 ranking on Forbes 200 Best Small Companies list at the close of 2007.
