Dan Dehlin dominated the Run the Keweenaw 2010 with two first place finishes, a second place finish and the overall win, in what marked his first foray back into racing since suffering knee injuries in mid-April. Dehlin, of Marquette, MI, is a member of Team Vasque and a Vasque Sales Rep with the Hanson group. The Run the Keweenaw weekend, which takes place in Copper Harbor, MI, is a true festival of trails and includes the 6K Mt. Baldy Summit, the 12K Copper Harbor Trails Adventure and the 25K Keweenaw Trails Run, all run on the beautiful yet rugged trails surrounding Copper Harbor.

Racing action kicked-off Saturday morning with the 6K Mt. Baldy Summit run, including two summits with over 750 feet of climbing. Dehlin finished second with a time of 21:48.3. Saturday evening featured the 12k Copper Harbor Trails Challenge where Dehlin took the lead from the beginning, with a time of 39.11.

“The 12K course had a significant amount of climbing,” says Dehlin. “My Vasque Transistors carried me into the finish further ahead of the field than I thought.”

The 25k Keweenaw Trails Run, Sunday morning was a brutal course in humid conditions. Dehlin switched to Vasque Mindbenders for his third race of the weekend, “to give his feet a little more protection and room”.

“The weekend and my overall win confirm that my training is going well and I am really looking for to getting to the LeadvilleTrail 100 and running down the Blvd. at 4am,”says Dehlin.
