Denver Born FattE-Bikes Introduces a New Way to Commute

FattE-Bikes – Denver’s first electric bike company – isn’t just about a one-off transaction of their new, innovative fat-tired e-bikes. Launched with a vision to revolutionize transportation, they want to transform the way we commute. By providing a full range of electric-powered bikes and accessories, hills no longer exist, sweat is a thing of the past, and exercise is effortless. In short, FattE-Bikes take you twice as far, twice as fast, for half the effort.
“Our vision is less about biking more, and more about driving less,” said Victoria Brunner, Co-Founder of FattE-Bikes. “Our ebikes accomplish both.”
The brand – that launched officially in June of 2017 – has four signature styles: the Sgt Mingo, the Londonderry, the Major T, and the Peñalosa. Boasting an attractive price-point, a vibrant company culture, and a commitment to innovative design, founders Kenny and Victoria hope to get more butts on bikes, and less traffic on the road.
“We looked at all the things we liked about ebikes and then improved upon all the things we didn’t,” said Kenny Fischer, the other Co-Founder of FattE-Bikes. “In the end, we’ve developed an affordable, highly functional, eye-catching and enjoyable electric vehicle.”
THE BIKES
Available in bright, eclectic colors, and named after one of the leaders of the US Army’s 25th Infantry Bicycle Corps (one of the first African-American military units), the Sgt. Mingo aims to motivate and inspire. This ‘go anywhere, do anything’ model boasts a sturdy mountain bike style frame with a high-performance drive perfecting any commute – urban or rural. It also features adjustable handle bars, 4″ wide fat tires, a twist throttle, fenders and rechargeable battery among other things.
The Londonderry – a street savvy, step-through model – draws its name from Annie Londonderry, the first woman to bicycle around the world in 1894. Designed for a super smooth ride, this bike offers a comfy upright seat, adjustable handle bars, 4″ wide fat tires for a variety of terrain, and a rechargeable battery among other features. For those looking for the bike that marries comfort and style – this is the one for them.
The Major T named after the world’s first bicycle racing champion, Marshall ‘Major’ Taylor – is the brand’s cargo bike. This bad boy can carry a couple kids, a couple grown men, tons of gear, beer, and everything in between. It features everything you need to haul your loads including a heavy duty front rack, extended, extra strength, bamboo-plated rear rack with dual bamboo foot rests, full fenders, a twist throttle, and front/rear LCD-controlled light.
As a nod to the space-restricted of us out there, they also offer the Peñalosa – their first folding bike. Getting its namesake from people who have done more for advancing modern bicycling in cities than most – the Peñalosa brothers – this snazzy little beauty will get you around just as efficiently as their larger models, but if you find yourself in a tight space (like, say, an elevator, an RV, an apartment or a very tiny deserted island) just fold er’ up!
All bikes come in stock with multiple customizable choices such as color, seat, grips and size. They also feature front suspension and seat shocks, bells and bottle cage bosses. Plus, knowing any true adventure comes with its fair share of dings and punctures, all FattE-Bikes come with paint touch ups and tire sealants. Additional upgrades are available.
