SAN DIEGO (February 8, 2013)—ElliptiGO Inc., creator of the world’s fastest elliptical cycles, today announced that L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P. 1st founder Derrick Boles has completed his 1,892-mile trek on an ElliptiGO. Starting from San Diego, California on December 7, 2012, Boles rode 50-80 miles each day and arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana last week where he spoke to several groups, encouraging them to “stand up” and become leaders in their communities.

“I embarked on this journey to spread a message of hope and health to everyone I encountered along the way,” stated Boles. “I wanted to remind people across the Nation that if we want things to change, we cannot wait for someone else to fix us. We must each become a leader and stand up for ourselves and our communities.”

As the keynote speaker at the John Wooten Award Ceremony and at the Dillard University B.O.S.S. Summit in New Orleans, Boles was able to share his message and journey with hundreds of people. “It wasn’t easy to complete my goal of riding from San Diego to New Orleans in less than two months. I rode through rain and freezing conditions, and I rode when I would rather have taken a day off. It was a challenging journey that required me to find the mental, physical and spiritual strength to stay on schedule and finish what I set out to do. I hope to inspire people to have that same strength in their own lives.”

Undertaking this epic journey on an ElliptiGO was a natural choice for Boles’ Stand Up America campaign, as the innovative elliptical bike has no seat and riders stand to propel themselves forward. “The ElliptiGO made the physical portion of my journey the most effective and efficient it could be,” said Boles. “I rode it nearly 2,000 miles and it’s the real deal. The ElliptiGO over-delivered and will remain my vehicle of choice to carry the Stand Up America message.”

“We were very proud to see Derrick achieve his audacious goal and were happy to support him as he spread his message of leadership across the country,” stated Bryan Pate, Co-Founder and Co-President of ElliptiGO. “Leading by example, Derrick undertook a bold journey and showed everyone that he had the mental toughness and fortitude necessary to see it through.”
