LAS VEGAS (June 25, 2014)— On Friday, July 4, 2014 Desert Sky Adventures (DSA), a Las Vegas based race management, training and running tour company dedicated to helping people run and walk for health and adventure, will host the RoadRunner Saloon 4th of July 5K Blast. The race starts at 7 a.m. at the RoadRunner Saloon at 9820 West Flamingo Road and follows the Western Beltway Trail. Entry fees are $40 before July 2. Registration is $45 after that time. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Wildland Firefighters Foundation, which supports the families of firefighters who have lost their lives. To view the course map or to register, runners can visit www.DesertSkyAdventures.com.

The course allows runners of all levels to enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and Strip. Runners can pick up their race packets at Red Rock Running Company (7350 W. Cheyenne Ave. Ste. 106) on Thursday, July 3 from 3 to 6 p.m. or onsite on race day. Participants receive a goodie bag, t-shirt and medal. Afterwards, runners will enjoy complimentary muffins and fruit from Rachel’s Kitchen. RoadRunner Saloon is also offering participants over 21 free mimosas in addition to breakfast specials for all runners. There will also be a raffle including prizes like dinners for two at Vintner Grill.

“Las Vegas has a fabulous running community, and we welcome runners of all ages and ability levels to run or walk with us,” said Molly Sheridan, DSA’s CEO and founder. “As we celebrate Fourth of July, we think it is fitting to run in support of the Wildland Firefighters Foundation, a non-profit that supports a modern day hero-firefighters killed or injured in the line of duty.”

On Saturday, October 18, 2014 DSA will host the Las Vegas Ultramarathon Run & Relay in celebration of the Sesquicentennial (150 Year Anniversary) of Nevada. The ultramarathon, part of the new Las Vegas Ultramarathon Series, is a 150K relay in whichparticipants will run through Floyd Lamb Park while enjoying the desert scenery from day to night. To view the Las Vegas 100 course map and registration, runners can visit www.DesertSkyAdventures.com.
