DPS Skis Wins Prestigious Backcountry Magazines Award

Salt Lake City, UT, (August 30, 2011) – DPS Skis, the world’s only pure carbon fiber sandwich ski manufacturer, is pleased to announce that it has won the prestigious Backcountry Magazine’s Editor’s Choice Award for its Yvette 112RP ski. Last year, the DPS Wailer 112RP won the same award from Backcountry Magazine.

Widely considered to be the ski industry’s largest and most unbiased ski test, Backcountry’s 2012 Gear Guide product test took place at Powder Mountain, Utah and measured the input of more than 50 independent testers from around the country.

The Yvette 112RP received outstanding tester response which, combined with exceptionally high test scores and category-leading overall performance, garnered the Editor’s pick. Tester feedback cited the Yvette’s performance as being “a hot skier” and “one of the most fun skis ever made.”

With a “heavy tip and tail rocker, traditional camber underfoot, and a weird-looking but effective bulbous tip profile (combined) with a snappy wood core and pure carbon fiber layup,” the Yvette 112RP was called “Rico Suave in pow,” and performed “better the harder its skied.”
