Drift Partners with Vail Valley Foundation to Sponsor Local Events

Drift Innovation, the action sports technology company and manufacturer of the Drift HD and HD720 wearable POV cameras, is immersing itself in its new Vail Valley community by sponsoring two upcoming local events hosted by the Vail Valley Foundation.

Vail, Colo. (Aug. 20, 2012)-Drift Innovation, the action sports technology company and manufacturer of the Drift HD and HD720 wearable Point of View (POV) cameras, is immersing itself in its new Vail Valley community by sponsoring two upcoming local events hosted by the Vail Valley Foundation. Drift will be the official POV camera sponsor of the Audi Birds of Prey World Cup Race Week, taking place Nov. 30 -Dec. 2, 2012 in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Drift is also sponsoring stage four of the second annual USA PRO Cycling Challenge on Aug. 23, 2012 in Beaver Creek.

“In light of Drift Innovation’s recent office opening in Vail, we wanted to introduce ourselves to the local and state communities on a deeper level. It is so exciting to have an office among one of the major arteries of the outdoor industry. We are thrilled to have a more physical presence in this core market,” said Drift Director of Sales & Marketing in the Americas, John Rounds. “It has been great working with the Vail Valley Foundation on these events, which draw the outdoor athlete. We look forward to continued partnership with VVF.”

Audi Birds of Prey World Cup premier ski racing event is the only men’s World Cup stop in North America. As the official POV camera sponsor, Drift will be accompanied by other well-known sponsors such as Audi, Budweiser, and Sprint at this world-class event. The event expects to draw over 25,000 people, and is free for spectators. Drift will be providing monetary and product contributions. Expect to see Drift all around the event, especially cheering athletes on at their tent, which will be located by the finish line.

Drift is also a sponsor of the second annual USA Pro Cycling Challenge during stage four, on Aug. 23rd. The USA Pro Challenge is an endurance cycling race in which some of the world’s top athletes traverse for seven consecutive days, from Aug. 20-26th, over three mountain passes and through 12 host cities from Durango to Denver, Colo. The race, which attracted over 1 million viewers in 2011, covers a 638-mile course that includes 42,000 ft. of vertical climbing, and will spotlight many of the world’s top cyclists.
