Dynafit Introduces Key New Free Touring Apparel Pieces, Designed for the North American Market

BOULDER, CO (January 27, 2016) – Dynafit, the leading brand in all forms of human powered skiing, announced today the addition of key apparel pieces to its growing ski apparel line. The key introductions for the 2016-17 winter season include the new Men’s Meteorite Jacket, the Men’s Beast Hoody and the Women’s Yotei Jacket and Pants, all designed specifically for the North American skier.

The waterproof, windproof and fully insulated Meteorite Jacket (743g) is the flagship addition to Dynafit’s North American men’s apparel line, which builds on the success of the Yotei Jacket launched for fall 2015. The Meteorite is specifically engineered for downhill performance at the forefront, featuring a premium Primaloft® Gold fill and a breathable Gore® Thermium™ outer layer, which is designed to retain insulation performance in cold, windy weather conditions with light rain or snow. The designers at Dynafit recognize that the difference is in the details, so the Meteorite jacket features a helmet compatible hood, adjustable sleeve cuffs, removable snow skirt, taped waterproof seams, a stow pocket and a looser ‘freeride’ fit. The Meteorite is the ideal jacket to keep skiers extra warm on cold days or when spending more time descending than ascending—whether on piste or off piste.

The Beast Hoody (483g) is a hybrid free touring hoody with Polartec® Alpha® insulation that runs through the chest, shoulders and tops of your arms and nylon stretch fleece inserts throughout the body and hood. The piece has a composition that will excel during aerobic activities, as the Alpha insulation® breaths and pulls water off your body while keeping you warm, but is constructed with a looser fit and look for those focused on the descent. This is the perfect mid layer for free touring or an around town piece, with a lifestyle fit and performance features including hybrid construction, elastic cuffs, and a technical fit hood.

The men’s Yotei Jacket and Pants were top sellers for the 2015-16 winter season so the Women’s Yotei kit is an obvious addition for next winter. The Yotei the most advanced and fully featured Gore-Tex® C-Knit free touring and big mountain jacket/pants combination for steep and deep conditions. C-Knit offers 30% more breathability while still maintaining waterproof and windproof features. Utilizing C-Knit also improves comfort and performance while reducing weight and feeling soft to the touch, particularly next to the skin. The Women’s Yotei Jacket (460g) features one hand ventilation zips, removable snow skirt, inner cuff layer, a helmet compatible hood, massive skin stash pockets and reflector strip taped seams. The Women’s Yotei Pant (567g) features a detachable bib with laser perforated ventilation holes in the back, ventilation zips, adjustable waist, adjustable hem, belt loops and elastic snow gaiters. Both pieces are cut with a looser free ride fit, designed for the hard-charging decent-minded woman.

“The Dynafit apparel program has come a long way in the last few seasons, and the FW16/17 line is clearly our best effort yet,” noted Dynafit’s North American Product Line Manager, Dan Fiore. “We’ve worked very closely with the apparel team in Europe to ensure the line is curated with the North American skier in mind. Our team in Boulder, CO along with our sales reps and core dealers who have tested the new pieces, have all responded enthusiastically so we’re really looking forward to a successful season ahead.

The 2016-17 apparel line is dedicated to growing Dyanfit’s free touring category, filling a specific need for the North American market in particular.
