Press Releases

Ski touring as a sport is becoming broader, more varied and increasingly popular. Recognizing a growing niche, DYNAFIT introduces the SPEEDFIT category to satisfy the needs of recreational uphill skiers and ski-tourers-in-training. The line is designed for those who uphill ski for fitness, primarily on piste, often getting out before and after the lifts are open. For winter 2017-18, DYNAFIT introduces a collection complete with skis, bindings, boots and apparel, designed with all the same technical elements you’d expect from the brand for mountain endurance athletes, but entirely dedicated to on-piste ski touring enthusiasts.

Uncomplicated and tailored for performance ski touring on-piste, DYNAFIT introduces the new SpeedFit 84 ski model for men and women.

The SpeedFit 84 has a versatile 84mm waist and is made of a blend of Paulownia, ash and poplar with additional fiberglass layers for an optimum balance between weight and ski performance. At the 176cm in length, the ski weighs just 1,350 grams, making it a handy partner for quick ascents. DYNAFIT 3D construction reduces the material weight in front of and behind the binding area in order to reduce overall swing weight without losing downhill performance. To save further weight, material in the top sheet is reduced to a minimum.

Full sidewalls guarantee good edge grip on-piste, while the model remains chatter-free and stable in icy conditions. Models feature rocker construction at tip and tail, adapted for each ski length to keep the effective edge length equally proportional to each size. Also the new 3D TIP construction with a 3DCarbon Shovel improve damping properties on the descent. The ski is not only forgiving but also offers smooth control on hardpack.

TLT SpeeD Binding

With its new TLT Speed binding, DYNAFIT has for the first time ever brought together the characteristics of a lightweight ascent-oriented binding with the advantages of a classic ski touring binding.

Built for the ascent and with features to improve ease of use, the TLT Speed weighs a mere 285gm due to aluminum components and a simplistic design. The Speed Step heel lifter functions as usual and can be employed or deactivated on the fly with your pole. The Excenter for locking the toe piece has been lengthened to further increase the simplicity of adjusting and locking the binding. As on all DYNAFIT models, the toe piece is equipped with “Ice Breaker Pins,” to remove snow and ice from the boot insert when stepping in.

The binding is also equipped with features to ensure a safe and enjoyable on-piste descent. Optional ski brakes, a 6-10 DIN range and pivoting toe piece for absorbing lateral impacts are all ideal for safe piste skiing. In addition, the wide drill hole pattern and bayonet closure on the heel add durability and improved binding power transfer, great for a wide range of uses. Finally the binding offers more flexibility in adjusting length, with 5mm in either direction.

TLT SpeedFit Boot

An uncomplicated, fast, no frills boot, the new TLT SpeedFit boot offers a fast, comfortable ascent while added features ensure performance on the descent – making it the perfect boot for athletic on-piste touring.

At just 1,190 grams (2.6 lbs), this boot is based on the proven DYNAFIT TLT line technology, and therefore is a minimalist, easy-to-handle ski touring boot without unneeded bells and whistles. This boot features a new lightweight boot liner that promises extra comfort for on-piste ski touring and superior insulation to protect feet from the cold even during early morning and night skiing. With the Ultra Lock 2.0 Closure System, the boot is adjusted, opened and closed with one single buckle — thus saving time and handling.

A soft Pebax tongue gives more flex in the forward lean and guarantees comfort and support during fast ascents while a Grilamid® upper provides rigidity on the descent. The POMOCO rubber blend in the outsole offers consistent performance when it comes to grip and stance while walking, even on hard, icy conditions.

For high-intensity, on-piste skiers.

Introducing DYNAFIT’s SpeedFit apparel collection for men and women, where high athletic performance meets top-level equipment performance. DYNAFIT uses only the most premium and functional materials, offering special blends of materials and time-tested details to add more comfort on the ascent and ensure athletes can focus on the fun part, skiing down.

The Speedfit Windstopper Jacket is made of a combination of materials including GORE® Windstopper and stretch nylon DYNASTRETCH softshell fabric, making it the perfect companion for long on-piste outings.

The windproof and water-resistant jacket features GORE® Windstopper membrane on the front torso and at the shoulders where the body is most exposed to the effects of wind and weather. At the back, where the backpack is carried, laser perforations add additional ventilation. The Dynastretch nylon softshell fabric panels offers stretch, to allow large strides and fast forward motion yet the jacket still has a form-fitting shape, ideal for layering and moisture management.

Reflective stripes on the arms and back makes the athlete more visible on the slopes in dim light, such as early mornings or late afternoons. To ensure visibility during the day, both the women’s and men’s versions come in bright, conspicuous colors. The jacket weighs in at just 337 grams (11.9 ounces).

Made with wind-resistant stretch material in the front, and a brushed stretch fabric at the back, DYNAFIT’s Dynastretch Ski Touring Pant offers just the right materials in just the right places.

The versatile SpeedFit Dynastretch Pant was specifically designed for on-piste skiers, with Dynastretch stoftshell fabric at the front, offering wind and water protection, while elastic stretch fabric ensures freedom of movement at the back of the pant.

The close-fitting athletic cut improves the pant’s insulative qualities as well as its moisture management when the going gets sweaty. The narrow leg openings have zippers in order to increase the pant’s range of use and also to allow it to be worn with larger footwear. Silicone gripper hems keep the pants in place and two side-zip pockets offer room to stash small items. The jacket features reflective stripes for visibility on the slopes, after-work outings or outdoor endurance activities.

For added warmth and weather protection during on-piste ski touring adventures, DYNAFIT introduces the TLT HYBRID PRIMALOFT HOOD JACKET made from PRIMALOFT LUXE fabric and DYNASHELL ULTRALIGHT STRETCH.

The athletic TLT Hybrid Primaloft® hooded jacket features 100 grams of bulk-free Primaloft® Luxe fibers that insulate even when wet. The outer material is water and wind resistant as well as abrasion resistant, for added durability. Strategically placed Dyna-Shell fabric stretch inserts are added at the underarms, hips and back, to aid in movement. Where athletes tend to sweat more, in particular underneath the pack, ventilation has been added. At the hips and low back, the fabric has been extended slightly to add additional comfort against winds and chafing from packs and straps. With reflective stripes to round out its suitability for on-piste tourers, the whole jacket weighs a mere 328grams (13.5 ounces) and is easily packable for all kinds of adventures.
