(LAFAYETTE, CO) June 18, 2013 – Eider, the French based manufacturer of ski and mountain apparel, is bringing their summer line of active wear and lifestyle apparel to the US. Traditionally focused on the winter market in the US, Eider successfully tested the SS13 line with select retailers last summer, and will show SS14 at Outdoor Retailer.

“After seeing buyer’s reactions last summer, and then being totally blown away by the strength of the SS14 collection, we decided there was a clear point of differentiation,” said Linda Greene, Eider Brand Manager. “Eider’s summer collection of outerwear and clothing will be an attractive option for the US market.”

Based in the picturesque French Alps town of Annecy, France, Eider is introducing two new collections in the summer line, which complement the existing collections of mountain and trekking apparel. The Momentum Collection features technical, lightweight fabrics, in muted colors, and a focus on breathability. The line of active wear is for those who believe engaging in outdoor recreation is about more than just performance. It’s feeling a grounding connection to our natural world, it’s therapy, and ultimately about our own self-fulfillment. The collection has a unique position, in that there are also style details like subtle patterns, cloudy stitching, and paneled construction. Eider’s Target Knit Jacket, for example, features a unique fabric, Gore-Tex Active Knit, offering 3-layer, 4-way stretch with 28,000mm breathability, while also delivering distinctive style with its heathered, knit-like appearance.

ANNECY LIVING is also new to summer, featuring clothing that is inspired by and designed for those who truly live the outdoor lifestyle in their everyday life. The new collection benefits from Eider’s 50 years of experience designing outerwear, known best for superb construction and precise fits, combined with a company philosophy that style need not be sacrificed in technical apparel. All the jackets, shirts, shorts, pants, skirts, and dresses in ANNECY LIVING are constructed with fabrics that are breathable, making them ideal for summer’s hot temps to wear at work, on light hikes, and summer adventures around town.

Eider is actively showing the line to retailers and media, and will exhibit at Outdoor Retailer (booth 14017). To schedule a viewing, please contact Linda Greene, at linda@lafumausa.com. For media inquiries, please contact Maro LaBlance at maro@lafumausa.com.
