BOULDER, Colorado (May 23, 2012) – The May 29th episode of HGTV’s Million Dollar Rooms will highlight a unique home in Silverthorne, Colorado. The show, hosted by Carter Oosterhouse,features the very best in high-end design and luxury living around the globe. The upcoming episode will focus on a unique aspect of this amazing home, designed by Gwyndollyn Wheeler of Jordin Architecture and Interiors of Denver, Colorado.
The centerpiece of this residence, and the focal point of the episode, is a three story custom climbing wall designed and built by Eldorado Climbing Walls of Boulder, Colorado. Using their rock realistic SHOTRock climbing wall system, Eldorado created a 28 foot Lshaped climbing wall that is custom hand-sculpted to give the wall a natural appearance. This allows the wall, which can be seen and experienced from throughout much of the home, to be an attractive focal point as well as an amenity that is well used by all three generations of the family and their friends. To maximize the opportunity for climbing, the climbing wall is outfitted with two TRUBLUE Auto Belays, which allow single climbers to use the wall at any time.
“The best thing about the climbing room is that it connects all three levels of the ‘lodge’ and lends the home a dynamic core of activity,†says architect Gwyndollyn Wheeler, who will appear in the
episode.
