SOLANA BEACH, CA, February 1, 2011 – California-based ElliptiGO Inc. has announced that over 70 specialty fitness and specialty bike retail stores nation-wide are now carrying the ElliptiGO 8S — the world’s first elliptical bicycle. After a successful launch in summer 2010, the company has steadily added an impressive number of retailers to its distribution roster. In 2011, ElliptiGO Inc. plans to dramatically expand its retail relationships and recruit additional retailers nation-wide. Interested retailers can contact the company for more information at

Jim Hoyt, the owner of Richardson Bike Mart, the largest bike retailer in Dallas, is an enthusiastic new retailer. “We were skeptical at first, but after selling 12 units in less than 2 months we are 100% behind this product.” Hoyt continues, “The ElliptiGO is a high quality product that delivers a unique running-like riding experience, which attracts a whole new set of customers to our store.”

Carlos Vazquez, President of Busy Body Gyms To Go, a major specialty fitness retail chain in Florida and Georgia also values the ElliptiGO as an addition to his product offerings. “The ElliptiGO is a fantastic addition to our stores because it delivers the same low-impact cardio-workout as the wildly popular indoor elliptical trainer. Many of our customers would like the flexibility to exercise outdoors as well so the ElliptiGO is a natural fit with our current customer base.”

Bryce Whiting, Vice-President of Sales at ElliptiGO, is thrilled with the retailer response to the ElliptiGO and excited about how the product adds unique value to specialty bike and fitness retailers alike. “For specialty bike retailers, the ElliptiGO offers a unique opportunity to engage and attract new customers who are looking for a running-like experience. For fitness retailers, the ElliptiGO is a perfect ‘off-season’ product for stores that experience seasonality in indoor fitness equipment sales and have a great existing customer base to leverage.” Whiting continues, “And for any retailer, the ElliptiGO is a powerful advertising tool that generates a lot of attention. In essence, every customer is a moving billboard. One of the most common questions new ElliptiGO owners get asked as they ride down the street is, ‘Hey! Where did you get that?’”

The ElliptiGO 8S performs and handles like a bicycle while using the elliptical trainer motion for propulsion. The result is a low-impact, high-output cross-training device that is great for anyone looking to improve their cardiovascular fitness without damaging their body. The ElliptiGO is particularly well suited for runners who want to enjoy a running-like experience outdoors while giving their knees and joints a break from the wear and tear caused by running. It’s also a great alternative for cyclists who suffer from seat pain or struggle with back and neck issues associated with the hunched over riding posture of a conventional bike. In addition, elliptical trainer users who want to experience the freedom and joy of exercising outdoors while using the same comfortable elliptical motion can now do so. By combining the best aspects of running, cycling and the elliptical trainer, the ElliptiGO 8S provides the most comfortable and effective low-impact outdoor workout experience available today.

The 8S has been embraced by elite athletes and aging boomers alike. “Ultramarathon Man” Dean Karnazes and US National 5K Champion Lauren Fleshman are among the numerous elite athletes who use the ElliptiGO for cross-training and active recovery after demanding runs. ElliptiGO’s largest customer base is the aging and active “boomer” who is just looking for a fun and comfortable way to exercise outdoors.

The current MSRP of the ElliptiGO 8S is $2,499. The company has launched a dealer locator that can be accessed at
