ElliptiGO Inc., originator of the elliptical bicycle, today announced that 2013 was another exceptional year for the company. The company grew adoption of its products with elite runners at the masters, professional and collegiate levels while delivering its 10,000th elliptical bike to a consumer. More than 100 professional runners, including 2012 Olympians Meb Keflezighi, Julie Culley, Lisa Uhl, Nate Brannen, Alysia Montaño, and Shannon Rowbury, are now incorporating the ElliptiGO into their training. In addition, some of the best collegiate and professional running teams in the country are using the ElliptiGO with their athletes, including Stanford University, Brooks Beasts and The Oregon Track Club Elite.
“2013 was another great year for our company,” stated Bryan Pate, Co-Founder and Co-President of ElliptiGO. “We continue to gain more and more traction within the running community and expand our user base. Watching our 10,000th ElliptiGO ship was something that we always knew would happen, but was still a great moment to experience. The performances of the professional runners who are integrating the ElliptiGO into their training remains the best way for us to show that using the ElliptiGO is a great way for runners to stay healthy and get faster. We also saw a dramatic growth in the number of recreational runners using the ElliptiGO who set PRs in 2013 and we expect that to increase significantly in 2014 as product adoption expands.”
Other notable achievements for the company in 2013 included growing its U.S. dealer network to more than 300 locations, expanding international distribution, doubling the size of the marketing team, and establishing the European Elliptical Cycling Championships, the first elliptical cycling competition held outside of the United States.
