Keen to be green, Eagles Nest Outfitters’ Vice President of Sales, Bobby Jackson, was awarded Wild South’s Award of Distinction for 2013 in the Outstanding Member Partnership Category at their 6th annual Roosevelt Ashe Conservation Green Gala on March 21, 2014.

Jackson, with ENO, has worked with Wild South, a regional conservation non-profit, for 3 years. He was nominated for the award because of his energy rallying support from the Conservation Alliance for Southeast forests, waters and wild places, providing financial support, sponsoring Wild South events, providing product for Wild South campaigns and promotions, and assisting in the creation of Wild South Wednesdays – weekly spotlights on ENO’s Facebook page featuring regional animals and plants Wild South works to protect.

“I couldn’t be more shocked winning this award,” said Jackson. “Wild South are a joy to work with and such a worthy organization – after all they protect our backyard here in Asheville. I’m humbled and honored to be selected by them.”

Recognizing that without organizations like Wild South who are dedicated to protecting the natural legacy of the area, the very trees outdoor lovers hammock on would be threatened, ENO hopes to continue their partnership in the future with the possibility of a Wild South Limited Edition Hammock.

“It takes working together with partners all across our region to provide landscape-level protection; connecting public and private lands, watersheds and coastlines, and people and communities,” said Benjamin Colvin, Wild South’s Development Director. “Bobby’s really stuck up for what we stand for here, and we believe it is vital to recognize and celebrate that.”

Jackson has headed the Sales Department at ENO for four-and-a-half years after working for top brands such as Keen and Arc’teryx. When he’s not slinging hammocks, he enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his wife, Natali, and daughter, Isabella.
