Through their partnership with 1% for the Planet and Kent County Parks Foundation on October 13, 2019, Envoy B2B set out to do their 1% good for the planet by hosting their first annual “Envoy Outdoors: The Great Pick Up” community event. Envoy’s employees and family members, along with clients, joined together for the first Envoy Outdoors community event at Millennium Park. Envoy’s “The Great Pick Up” combined hiking the beautiful trails of Millennium Park with trash pick up as the goal, a picnic to celebrate the outdoors, and a party to commemorate the work done together.

1% for the Planet is an organization that helps businesses like Envoy give 1% of their sales back to the purpose of bettering the environment. Starting this year, Envoy gives 1% of everything they’ve sold back to the environment, while also participating in other ways like hosting employee volunteer park clean up events and community clean up and awareness events.

“At Envoy, we believe that it’s important to get our community involved with our parks and the needs of the planet. We’re surrounded by a world that’s worth exploring, and it’s our responsibility to protect it and keep it clean,” stated Jon Faber, CEO and Founder of Envoy B2B.

During the event, employees and clients arrived, ready to do their 1% for the Planet alongside Envoy B2B. Six different trails were cleaned as employees, partners, families, and clients joined together to do their part.

“The goal of Envoy Outdoors: The Great Pick Up was to gain local community awareness about the importance of maintaining and protecting the areas we’ve been provided with while enabling folks to reflect on just how great the outdoors really is,” Faber explained. “We chose to do this by dedicating our time to the Kent County Parks Foundation this year. While most of the parks in Kent County are county-owned and supported, there are always needs that don’t receive the government funding we feel they should.”

“This has been an exciting partnership with Envoy B2B! Our mission is to inspire, move, and invest. Envoy B2B has been an amazing partner inspiring their employees and their family members to get outdoors and do something positive that makes a difference in our community. We are grateful for their support of our parks and trails network,” said Sam Moore, Executive Director of the Kent County Parks Foundation.

Envoy B2B plans to grow its Envoy Outdoors events through making “The Great Pick Up” an annual event, with the objective of getting more and more employees, family members, clients, and partners to participate each year.

“It was great to work alongside our team and partners in a new way, cleaning up our local parks. Watching the kids get excited about finding and picking up trash was a major highlight for me. I can’t wait until our next one.” Faber concluded.
