Missoula, MT (June 30, 2021) –  The National Forest Foundation (NFF), a congressionally-chartered nonprofit partner of the U.S. Forest Service, is hosting National Forest Week, an annual celebration of our 193-million-acre National Forest System and public lands from July 12 to July 18. National Forest Week takes place each year on the second full week of July with this year’s theme being “Explore It All” encouraging individuals to share their favorite memories, experiences, and personal connections to National Forests.

“We work year round with our partners to improve and conserve our National Forests to inspire meaningful connections with these public lands. National Forest Week allows everyone to come together and celebrate the experiences and memories made within these beautiful National Forests,” said Mary Mitsos, President and CEO of the NFF. “My team and I are looking forward to seeing the public engage and hearing about the connections others have to our National Forests.”

The celebration will start with a Virtual Kick-off live stream event hosted by the NFF on Instagram and YouTube on Monday, July 12 at  2 p.m. EST/11 a.m. PST, featuring Forest Service personnel, NFF staff, and corporate and nonprofit partners, influencers and a musical performance.
