Eventus Outdoors announced today it has appointed boutique PR and communications agency JAM Collective to promote its new event series the REI Outessa Summit.

The REI Outessa Summit offers a weekend of memorable adventure experiences for women led by professional athletes and guides. In its inaugural year, the first two weekends will be held at Kirkwood Resort near Lake Tahoe, California, from August 19 to 21, and Powder Mountain near Salt Lake City, Utah from September 9 to 11. Registration for both events is now open.

These weekends boast flexibility and variety since each attendee can customize her schedule, although choosing classes might be the biggest challenge as more than 200 options exist. Camping, backpacking, kayaking, outdoor cooking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, yoga, hiking and trail running are some of the offered activities.

The event series was created by Eventus Outdoors in collaboration with REI, the national specialty outdoor retailer and consumer co-op, which is the title and presenting sponsor.

Eventus Outdoors tapped the team at JAM Collective to oversee social media and manage public relations for the first-of-its-kind event series for women.

“JAM Collective is known for its longstanding relationships in the outdoor industry, its expertise in social media and PR, and for both thinking strategically and managing the minutia. We knew they would be the perfect partner to launch REI Outessa Summit,” says Julia Stamps Mallon, co-founder and VP business development of Eventus Outdoors.

Julie Atherton, founder of JAM Collective, says, “When we first learned about the REI Outessa Summit, the whole JAM Collective team was drawn to the inspiring concept and the adventurous weekend getaways. We couldn’t wait to start promoting it knowing it was going to be a special experience for so many women who want to recharge in the outdoors.”

Eventus Outdoors joins the family of JAM Collective clients representing some of the world’s best active lifestyle, outdoor, bike and fashion brands including Osprey Packs, Leatherman, Miir, Mountain Hardwear, Vuarnet, Yakima Products, Inc. and Snow Peak.
