Everlast continues licensing alliance with "Contender" TV series

NEW YORK – July 18, 2006 – EverlastÂ® Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: EVST – News), manufacturer, marketer and licensor of sporting goods, apparel footwear and other active lifestyle products under the Everlast brand name is continuing its strategic merchandise, licensing and equity alliance and agreement with Contender Partners LLC, formed by leading entertainment companies Mark Burnett Productions and DreamWorks Television, involving the “The Contender 2,” the boxing-based reality television show premiering tonight ESPN, 7 p.m. (PST) / 10 p.m. (EST).
“The Contender 2,” is produced by Mark Burnett Productions (producers of Survivor and The Apprentice, among other hit shows) and DreamWorks Television (the studio launched by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen). Sugar Ray Leonard will reprise his role in popular human drama. As part of the agreement, Everlast will be the series’ exclusive supplier of equipment, active wear, T-shirts and shoes.
Beginning tonight, the Network will air the popular human drama The Contender 2 through ESPN as well as ESPN2 and its other affiliates. Additionally, The Contender will be channeled through various ESPN original programming (i.e. Sports Center, ESPN Hollywood) as well as its multi-media network of Internet, radio and print properties. A replay of the show will be shown Friday nights prior to ESPN Friday Night Fights. The two boxers left standing at the end of the season will fight in the live finale set to air September 26th from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.
