Golden, Colorado – April 8,2019 – Popular gym EVO Rock + Fitness, with locations in Louisville, CO; Portland, ME and Concord, NH celebrated its groundbreaking with Kodiak Real Estate Group for their next location in Golden, Colorado on Monday, April 8. The gym will be a bouldering only facility featuring state-of-the-art training boards, creative route setting, a personable crew and an inclusive vibe.

With industry trends leaning towards building larger facilities across the nation, EVO is doing something different. An architect by trade, founder Hilary Harris said “There seems to be a tipping point somewhere in the scale of a gym where the intimate community feel climbers are drawn to gets lost in the largeness. We wanted to try out something different, go back to our roots, and see if we could not recreate that in a smaller gym.” The Golden location will be just under 11,000 square feet.
Members will have the option to use the larger facility in Louisville if they are looking for more extensive terrain and offerings.
EVO Bouldering – Golden is aiming to open in the winter of 2020.
Company Info
EVO Rock + Fitness was founded by Hilary Harris in 2012.
Gyms: Louisville, CO; Portland, ME; Concord, NH.
Harris is a longtime Boulder resident, climber and architect. She serves on the board of the Access Fund, a non-profit whose mission is to keep climbing areas open and conserve the climbing environment. Harris co-owns EVO Rock + Fitness with two other business partners: Clint Dillard of Louisville, CO and Stephen Price of Boulder, CO, both of whom are volunteers for Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
The inspiration for EVO came from the need to fill the ever-increasing gap between the indoor climbing experience and the climbing community at large. The company designs state-of-the-art climbing gyms to provide a framework for future climbers, while still maintaining traditions of mentorship, outdoor ethics and enriching stories that build community.
