evolv Climbers Sharma and Rands Take Podium Awards at EarthTreks Roc Climbing Comp
Buena Park, CA – May 13, 2010 – evolv Sports’ climbing athletes Chris Sharma and Lisa Rands held top spots at the Earth Treks Climbing Centers first stop on the Unified Bouldering Championships tour. Sharma took first place and Rands took third in the first event on the 2010 UBC Pro Tour at The Earth Treks Roc Comp April 23 & 24, 2010. The 2010 Roc Comp spanned two days, hosting climbers ranging from the top pros in the world to beginners all competing for prizes, cash and points. On Saturday, April 24th climbers including Chris Sharma, Lisa Rands, Alex Johnson and Paul Robinson competed against a top field and for cumulative individual point rankings towards the overall UBC Pro Tour Championship.

The UBC Pro Tour will have it’s second stop August 2-4 at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, UT and the UBC Championships will be held at a time and place TBD.
Chris Sharma was wearing a first round prototype of a new evolv shoe to be released in 2011, part of the Sharma Signature Series that Chris is intimately involved with developing. Working with the evolv designers and production facility to create a new shape that takes the performance of his shoes to another level, Sharma is doing second round proto testing at the New River Rendezvous where he will be working with Chris Lindner and Buck Branson on fine tuning the concept of this new shoe.
