Portland, OR – January 11, 2011 – When it snows, KEEN wants to enable outdoor enthusiasts around the world to embrace the cold, take a snow day and explore nature’s frozen playground. The Portland-based leader in hybrid outdoor performance footwear, bags and socks has taken that mission to heart and expanded its collection of winter footwear for 2011 making it possible for KEEN fans to play in the outdoors no matter how low the mercury plummets.
This season KEEN asked the question, “Can a winter boot be warmer without being bulkier?†To answer the question, KEEN is introducing patent-pending KEEN.WARM Heat Trapolater which sandwiches three layers of heat-trapping materials under the foot to hold warm air in. This innovative technology, when combined with KEEN.WARM, provides 360 degrees of lofted insulation and works a lot like the insulation in the attic space of a house.
“The winter weather forecast should never limit our outdoor fun,†said KEEN Vice President of Product, Kelly Wallrich. “Our design team has worked hard to create a collection that allows you to get outside and play even in the coldest of temperatures. We like to think of the KEEN.WARM Heat Trapolater as a simple solution for cold feet!â€
