After working with Cablz the last year we have put their eyewear retention through the harshest of conditions ranging from White Water Rafting to Down Hill Mountain Biking. These eyewear retainers aren’t your typical “Chums”, saving you from looking like super-nerd at every corner with a giant cloth string hanging off your head. Cablz are made of surgical grade steel cable, industrial strength rubber and other quality components, Cablz are designed to handle hard work and active lifestyles. Cablz Eyewear Retention System is the truly the next generation of eyewear retention.
After testing out the Cablz ZIPZâ„¢ in 2012 we were thrilled with their durability and versatility on any frame size. ZIPZ are designed to be worn extended at regular length or adjusted for a closer fit to the back of the head.
-Adjustable
-Snag proof when “zipped”
-Perfect under helmets, hoodies, etc.
-Great for running, kayaking and other active sports
-The only retainer to use for straight armed glasses
While at Outdoor Retailer this past month the company provided us their newest product the Cablz XTREMZ, this product can be adjusted down to 8 inches. This allows the retainers to be adjusted even closer than the Zipz for activities that demand the most out of eye wear retainers such as White Water Rafting. The new Xtremz were extremely easy to use. The Xtremz an Xtremz XL were designed perfectly to fit smaller and larger sunglasses legs.
TeamSOG had a chance to test out the new XTREMZ at this years 24 Hour Lionheart Adventure Race. Racer Julia Pollock quotes: ” The new XTREMZ were perfect for mountain biking and kayaking on the Yough River. They kept my Switch Vision Eyewear safely on my face even when faced with mishaps on the trail and river. The XTREMZ were extremly easy to adjust and never slowed me down in transition.”
