The state boasts 10 National Parks, 41 State Parks and 320 miles of coastline. The Appalachian trail travels 65 miles through North Carolina, while the Mountains-to-Sea Trail covers over 1,100 miles as it traverses across the state. North Carolina also offers numerous water based outdoor recreation opportunities including the Nantahala recreation area, Transylvania’s 250 waterfalls, and the Outer Banks.
Farm to Feet North Carolina BBQ and Sunshine Cocktail Hour
Thursday, August 4
4:30-6pm
Booth BR 621
Sunshine has created two special cocktails for the BBQ, the Ocracoke Sunrise and Clingman’s Sunset. The refreshing cocktails are named for Ocracoke Island, where first light hits the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, and Clingmans Dome, the trail’s highest point and western terminus.
The Skylight Inn has been cooking whole hogs over wood since 1947 and has become a standard in eastern NC barbecue. The Jones family has been unwavering in their dedication to cooking barbecue the old fashion way (with wood), and the Skylight Inn has stayed true to its roots. In 2003 the Jones family received one of four James Beard awards for “America’s Classics” and the Skylight Inn has been featured on the Travel Channel, Food Network, and CBS Morning Show.
For those who prefer beer with their BBQ, Farm to Feet will be serving Sierra Nevada, who has a brewery in Asheville, in pint glasses from some the finest brewers from around North Carolina including Foothills, Skull Camp, Birdsong, and Small Batch.
Farm to Feet will introduce its Mountains-to-Sea hiking collection at the 2016 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, UT, August 3-5, 2016.
