Farm to Feet Recognized with American Made Outdoor Gear Award

Mt. Airy, NC – Farm to Feet, makers of 100% American socks, was recently received an American Made Outdoor Gear Award at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City, UT. Farm to Feet was recognized as a category winner for companies with 100 or more employees.

The American Made Outdoor Gear Awards is hosted by Kokatat Inc., (www.kokatat.com) the leading US manufacturer of technical apparel and gear for paddle sports, and were open to all American manufacturers with a compelling story.

“Our brand is solely focused on making the best socks using only US sourced materials and to be recognized for this commitment is very gratifying, especially as a brand as young as we are,” said Kelly Nester, president of Farm to Feet.

Founded in 2013, Farm to Feet produces a full range of socks for outdoor pursuits and everyday use made with US Merino wool and other US sourced materials.

As a winner of an American Made Outdoor Gear Award Farm to Feet received a Sassy, a handcarved statue of a Sasquatch. The award program was designed in hope that by sharing companies’ stories they can keep American manufacturing from becoming a myth, like a Sasquatch.

Other American manufacturers received recognition for their domestic manufacturing including Hyperlite Mountain Gear who was awarded the overall award and one-year ownership of the “Sassy” travelling trophy — a two-foot tall, hand carved, redwood Sasquatch from Humboldt County, CA. • Under 10 Employees Duckworth (www.duckworthco.com) of Bozeman, MT, a wool apparel manufacturer.

In the four years of the program the American Made Outdoor Gear Awards has received 290 entries from domestic manufacturers. Past overall winners have included Liberty Bottleworks, Benchmade Knives, and Sterling Rope.
