Filson Formally Launches Women's Line at ORWM

Responding to strong consumer and retailer demand from female outdoor enthusiasts, Filson (booth #15019) a leading outfitter for outdoor, fishing and hunting devotees, will formally launch a women’s line at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market. The women’s line embraces the brand’s rich heritage and combines Filson’s respected design and performance technology with feminine lines. Highlights from the women’s line include the Foothills Parka, Wool Cruiser Jacket, Travel Vest, Alaskan Guide Shirt and Northern Quilted Vest. Supporting its solid men’s following, Filson will showcase updated men’s pieces that feature new performance elements while maintaining classic Filson style and quality. Key pieces of the men’s line available for fall ’08 include a Shelter Cloth Foothills Parka, Light Antique Tin Cloth Shirt and an updated design of the Pro-Guide Strap Vest. In addition, Filson will show its popular durable luggage line that has been an integral part of the Filson line.

Filson Women’s Line
Leading Filson’s women’s line outerwear offerings are the Foothills Parka, Wool Cruiser Jacket, Northern Quilted Vest and the Shelter Cloth Logger Jacket. The Foothills Parka offers comfort and warmth, with wool lining and quilted-lined sleeves, as well as two large expandable cargo pockets at front with a one-hand snap opening. The parka is available in dark tan with an MSRP of $265.

Constructed of 100% virgin Mackinaw Wool, the Wool Cruiser Jacket offers exceptional insulation and performance in harsh conditions. Mackinaw Wool is naturally water repellent and absorbs 30% of its weight in moisture without making the wearer damp or clammy. Based off of classic Filson design, the cruiser has a layer of Oil Finish Shelter Cloth on the shoulders for added water repellency and durability. The Cruiser is available in Forest Green with an MSRP of $205.

The Northern Quilted Vest is a fitted piece with contoured front and back seams, as well as adjustable back waist tabs. Made with 100% nylon taffeta with polyester fill, this vest offers warmth in fall and spring. Available in Black, Leaf Green and Taupe, the Northern Quilted Vest has an MSRP of $98.

The Shelter Cloth Logger Jacket is constructed of densely woven, water-repellent 100% cotton. Named after military shelter tents, this fabric is extremely dense and durable and can perform in tough field conditions. Design elements include finished interior seams, generously sized front snap closure pockets, snap front and back contoured seams. The Logger Jacket is available in Dark Tan with an MSRP of $160.

For a variety of outdoor pursuits, including bird watching and photography, Filson presents the Women’s Travel Vest. Based on the popular men’s version, the sleek, minimalist Travel Vest is constructed of 100% cotton cover cloth and features 15
pockets (six of them zippered), adjustable draw-cord hem, lightly padded neck, and a water-repellent, stain-resistant finish. The Travel Vest is available in Desert Tan and Olive Green with an MSRP of $170.



For female hunting and sport shooting enthusiasts, Filson is expanding its offerings with the introduction of the Tin Cloth Chaps and the Shooting Jacket. The Tin Cloth Chaps are made with 100% Oil Finish Tin Cloth, an original Filson fabric that is water repellent and wind and abrasion resistant. Featuring a straight leg and adjustable side straps, the chaps offer comfort and protection and are available in Dark Tan with an MSRP of $65.

The Alaskan Guide Shirt is modeled after the classic men’s version which is popular among bush pilots, cold weather hunters and year-round guides. With 100% cotton flannel brushed for softness and densely woven for maximum wind resistance, the shirt offers warmth and durability, as well as a relaxed fit with a slightly dropped tail. Available in Red/Black Plaid, Cream/Black Plaid and Green/Black Plaid, the Alaskan Guide Shirt has an MSRP of $68.50.

Filson Men’s Line
Filson continues its 100-plus year tradition of offering classically-designed high-performance apparel for a variety of outdoor pursuits. In response to numerous customer requests, the company is introducing a Shelter Cloth Foothills Parka, designed with dense, water-repellent oil finish shelter cloth. This versatile jacket, designed for both leisure and active outdoor pursuits, features Mackinaw Wool lining in the body and quilted lining in the sleeves, wool-lined upper hand warmer pockets, two large expandable cargo pockets in front with one-hand snap opening, wool-lined hand warmer pockets behind front cargo pockets and snap closure storm flap. Available in Dark Tan and Otter Green, the Parka has an MSRP of $295.

Based on positive response to last year’s introduction of the Antique Tin Cloth Shirt, Filson is introducing the Light Antique Tin Cloth Shirt in a straight collar and button-down collar design. The canvas fabric features a soft, broken-in feel and offers double chest pockets and adjustable cuffs. Available in Desert Tan, Light Blue, Otter Green, Burnt Orange and Navy, the shirt has an MSRP of $75.


For hunters, Filson has updated the design of the Pro-Guide Strap Vest to better accommodate hunting gear needs. Constructed of Tin Cloth, the vest now features front belt loops on which to secure clip-on dog transmitters and inside front elastic loops and eyelets to secure dog transmitter lanyards. This style also features the largest game bag Filson offers. Available in Dark Tan, the vest has an MSRP of $165.

Filson is also introducing a new, lighter weight Mesh Game Bag designed for warm weather upland bird hunting in the South and Midwestern United States. The bag is constructed of mesh and oil finish shelter cloth and is designed for maximum freedom of movement with back-rear loading, two backside water bottle pockets, two front bellow pockets, adjustable cotton webbing straps and a leather buckle front closure. Available in Dark Brown/Dark Tan, the game bag has an MSRP of $80.
