TORONTO (January 12, 2009) – The brave have stepped up to the plate (or rink), as Canada Goose and The Conservation Alliance announce teams participating in the inaugural Canada Goose Cup street hockey tournament for The Conservation Alliance at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2010. As part of the OR Industry Party festivities, Arc’teryx (“Blade in Canadaâ€), CamelBak (“Strange Brew”), Canada Goose, Granite Gear (“Puck Offsâ€), ITW Nexus Global, Merrell (“Team Merrell & Friendsâ€), Nikwax, Prana and Yukon Charlie’s will support The Conservation Alliance by participating in the tournament from 6-8 p.m.
“The competition will be fierce but no doubt, plenty of fun,†said Kevin Spreekmeester, vice president of marketing for Canada Goose. “The fact that this inaugural event has caught on so quickly with such enthusiasm is testament to the great work The Conservation Alliance does for our precious outdoor spaces, and the unity of the outdoor industry behind it.â€
The nine participating teams will play single elimination, 15-minute games in hopes of taking home the Stanley Cup replica Canada Goose Cup, as well as a donation in their name to The Conservation Alliance and award for “best team jersey.â€
